OKay, here is the latest jarhead wip - The Rat King. Just one side of the face nearly finished alot more refining to do on the fur and there will be three variations of it as Grey Matter Figures will be producing it. It is done to look like the werewolf which many people thought rat like and quite a few people wanted to buy it, so it is sculpted as a copy of it. dfb

Another piece of top notch working mate. Your Wizard is unfortunately still awaiting my attention but I will try and get him done asap. The trouble is I am not at home much these days and my painting has all but dried up.

Hello folks. Here are the final wip shots of the basic rat king bust. It is nearly done, just texturing on the robes and teeth to sculpt. I was hoping to finish this tonight, but being unwell may have to do it by tomorrow! I will post this off and start working on design sketches for the crown and the other head pieces for the two other variations as well which should be fun. The fur texture is pretty detailed - alot of time went into doing this. The rear of the cloak will have some stitching put on and some patchwork as well as the little rips and tears to help portray the scabby nature of the rat as well. Some of the photos are blurry - sorry about that! Jabberwocky - thanks mate, it took along time to texture but it was worth it! dfb

heheheh. I know I said I would, and I have still been thinking on it so don't worry all is not lost! The projects I have planned is some kind of ogre "Mammox" Rider, that is a definite, a large scale (possible 6") little red riding hood with a big axe and a wolfs head fur cloak etc, and I am quite fancying doing a 54mm wizard, of course there is always time for to slip a jarhead in at ant given moment!

Thought I'd better post a little update here, I am currently working on a new bust for entry into the MiniDojo sculpting competition, it is a half orc assassin. Won't be easy to win - there are three very tasty entries I like out of the already posted entries. The competition closes on 31st July, so I have 2 days to sculpt the clothes, weapons and get it photographed!!! Time is tight. www.minidojo.com/contest/open/Non-Human-Assassin/C19I now have blog, check it out. It will be more frequently updated than my forum posting I expect. doggysdoings.blogspot.com/I will be posting the pictures on the 31st of the hopefully completed bust across the forums and it will feature in my cmon gallery. dfb

Hi Jabberwockey, though I say it myself, my entry is pretty good but I do like that female drow with the blade going down and I don't think mine will beat it. The demon is very good also and the skaven is also a strong entry. It will be tough finishing it in time to be honest. I will still post it as an entry if it is unfinished though.

Great blog dfb, just added it to my bookmarks. The competition looks fierce, though I'm sure your entry will not be an outcast. Can't wait to see it!

I didn't make it with my entry unforunately. It wasn't far off. I am pretty disappointed with myself as it would have been nice to have a chance to get my hands on 500€! The female drow by corax got my gold medal vote - great design and a great sculpt. Here is a quick wip photo of mine... dfb

Okay, I have finally got around to doing the pictures for my finished assassins bust, its been sitting around for a few days now so i thought i had better post it up. Follow the link below - votes are appreciated and comments and crits would be helpful also. www.coolminiornot.com/229518I have named this piece "The Darkhand" in honour of an old RPG character I had in my youth. Didn't quite make the competition deadline it was sculpted for but I am glad I followed it though to completion as I enjoyed sculpting it for the most part. There is still a little sanding to do to clean up some areas and I would really have liked to have sculpted a base for this guy but too much other stuff going on really (may still do this one day though). I'm pretty pleased with the drapery and the evil expression of the character which were key elements of the design for me, I hope you like it. dfb

Hey Dennis - a wee while ehh, thought those pesky aliens had abducted your arse!! Gave Fox Mulder a ring but got Scully instead and we ended up having some dirty phone sex. Glad to see you re still lurking about mate, this WIP thread NEEDS You O||| (thats meant to be a pointing finger by the way) so lets be seeing this DE army and send me a PM. I'm still interested in that elf This applies to all lurkers - lets see some of your projects, WIP 'em out and show everyone! Thanks for the comp dennis, but I still have a long way to go yet with my sculpting and painting so its exciting times with lots of ideas in my head and a whole bunch of skills to master. Jabberwocky - yeah it has been a while but I have been given marching orders to get on with the many DIY projects around the house. Fortunately I had the good sense to start with my garage which means I am sneakily turning it into a studio to do my work in and as a gym as well with punchbag and multigym. I am behind with the rat sculpts as a result - although the assassin one is done and i will hopefully be posting pics soonish (Monday I am hoping) on CMON. There are two more of these to do and the following projects will be the Mammox Ogre Lord, a giant and a secret project which I will starting immediately after the rats are done.
