Looks as good in the pic as it did irl!! On this screen it looks much better! Not just the cape, but also the rest has a lot more contrast. Should watch minis here (at work) more often

Cheers guys, I am back on the Skeletons today and here are some more shots of number two now completed (barring the base). Once I have the third one done from this pack I will do all their bases before moving onto the second pack. I have just given the third one its first undercoat, I won't really get started on it properly until tomorrow

Thanks MaGie I have been working more on the RBG barbarian, another day off bone and am pleased with the progress so far. Next time I work on it I am going to soften the shadow under the cheek bone and I am also considering giving him a morning shadow, for now though it is back to the skellies.

Morning shadow on the barbarian would look cool Tim, you will be need to prepare yourself for that stubble on the wizard! I expect to see highlighted edges on every pore hole LOL!

Cheers Jabber I've been quite productive today and gotten about a half way through the third skellie. I don't like the pose on this one not that there is anything wrong with it it is just that it is bloody awkward to paint lol.

I have been painting the third one today and to be honest I am not enjoying this one as much. Not that there is anything wrong with the sculpt but the pose makes it very awkward to get to alot of the ribcage and pelvic areas, I am also struggling tonight to get a good photo set up and will try again tomorrow as by then I am hoping to have the first three finished based and all. So this is about a half way through this little project. Next pack has the best sculpts in the range IMO

Hehe--sorry to hear about the difficulties. While it may be tough to paint, I do like the lumbering aspect of the pose. I think you're doing a fine job with it and the natural shading from your lightsource adds to it.

Your minis are coming on great, I'm so jealous that you paint so much, I get about 2 hours a week to sit and paint mine if the kids let me. As a side question, what have you got set up for taking the pictures of the figures as they always look crisp and clear. We are trying to sort our pics out for the web site so they all look the some unfortunately our Photography skills are minimal .

Had to leave the skellies for today as I need to get a couple of newish fine brushes to use. I know I have some about the place but can't find the box I know they are in. Anyway this is another commission piece for a guy down town. The FW Ork Pilot. I am not keen on this model so I am struggling a bit to keep focused on it. Thankfully this mini is not as busy as some of the GW Ork range and so shouldn't be too difficult for me to keep focused enough to finish it soon. As for the photos I just use a simple set up, blue to white fade propped up with a water effects bottle, and my camera on a tripod with my painting light set up over the top pf the camera angled towards the mini.

Yeeh! A new greenskin I actually do like the model, it's quite different from the GW ones but very impressive. I really like what you did with the skin. Is it a different colour scheme than your usual, or does it just look like that?

Nice skintones mate. I can see you struggling with this one if you're not feeling inspired towards it. Sure you'll made a great job anyway.
Choks away lads!!!

Thanks guys, right I have put the ork to one side to carry on with the skeleton commission, I am not happy with the dark line under the jaw on the right hand view so will be painting over that but that is the way it is sculpted so it might be difficult to hide it altogether. Anyway here are the pics of the 4th skellie in the set as he is at the moment. More pics as I get them done. @magie I'll pm you about the ork skin when I get five mins later today.

Another great start, Tim! I wouldn't worry too much about the line on the jaw--it actually fits in, IMO. I think it easily could be made out as a fracture of the jaw bone. In fact, it looks as though the jaw bone is skewed slightly to the left (as seen in the pic, the skellie's right) as if the jaw is slightly dislocated. Make sense?

Bit spesh mate!!! It's got talent and it ain't Daggon talent!! LMAO, thanks mate. Sean I thought that the jaw was meant to be a bit crooked by the way it is sculpted and that is why I went for the dark line. I have since blended it out a little and I think it looks better for it. This one is nearly done now, the shield is attatched and finished and the axe is nearly completed pics up later. As before I'll be leaving the base until I have the other two out of this pack done. I'll also be getting back to work on the Ork pilot as well either today or tomorrow.

Another good call, Tim--the jaw looks much better now. The shield is fantastic; I really like the subtle use of color on the shield. You know my next question...colors??
