Good work... The NMM is looking great, and I think the face will look a little better with a better photo.
Wish our GW had stuff like this. I only go their once a year, because its so far away, but most of the staff aren't all that good. Also, they're all for gaming, and dont put much focus into the painting side of the hooby. So its all tornaments, and stuff, and not very many painting competitions, and no real lessons.

Fixed the eyes, got the pants done(ish). I'm thinking about adding a freehand patch on the knee or something... There was a slight incident with some orangey/reddy/brown and the sword but its better now. I need to fix up the hair a bit more, maybe a couple brown washes or something. I also just took a couple quick pictures of some of the other stuff i've been working on. Hobbit: Cadian Command Squad (converted from plastics): Salamander Terminators: Tau Pathfinder Display:

Great job on the pinstripes. I think the hair could use another level of highlights. The vest is looking sharp, though!

That hobbit is looking great, the pinstripe trousers are cool. You also seem to have alot of stuff in the pipeline. Look forward to seeing those progress.

As if I didn't have enough to work on: I'm really really really happy with how this is turning out. I needed a bit more power in my orc army so I figured whats more powerful than an orc with a big axe riding in a chariot. It's kinda hard to see from this angle but the boss is actually standing on the siding of the chariot and balancing himself by holding the banner pole. I still need to green stuff gaps from all the cutting (see drivers whip arm to see what I mean). I can't decide if I should paint it to match my army (ie. BADLY) or if I should spend alot of time on it... Oh, and the other base is for the boss as well (I have doubles of all his bits so I'm making another on foot for when his chariot is inevitably destroyed and he hopefully passes his roll to survive and keep fighting).

A piece like that needs to have time spent on it as it is a stand alone item and will instantly draw attention. So I would recommend doing the upmost best you can with it.

Here's some of the stuff I've been working on lately (haven't finished anything in a while though...). Inquisitorial Storm Trooper (a bit of paint as worn away on the helmet...) Blood Raven Librarian (probably some of my best work so far). He was for a local competition here, so I had to rush him to "finish" him, which is why the staff is so bad right now... I do intend to repaint it. As well as adding free hand to the tabard and book.

Well first let me say it is great to have you back on the site and secondly especially as you have shown us some cool stuff, the SM is excellent especially the face.
What a way to make your re-entrance mate.

I really like the face on the Libarian, and the blue armour and weathering looks great too. Not so sure about the beige cloth though.

Thanks Tim, I really appreciate the welcom. The picture of the librarian isnt the best for the face, it looks better in real life. I'm gonna do my best to get on here more often but I'm really not sure how often I'll be able to check in (I'm off for a week and in Ottawa right now so once university starts back up I might bea little strapped for time...) @matt1001: Yes, that was possibly the most "exciting" painting session I've ever had lol... @mutantpotato: I've had a couple comments about the cloth colour before... I personally like the beige, and it will be covered in free hand (another BR icon, and LOTS of script) so hopefully that'll change some minds on it. Thanks for the comments guys.

Cool I really like the face on the Blood Raven Librarian. the armour too. Is it freehand om the shoulder pad?

Yes the shoulder is freehand, I'm not completely happy with it to be honest... It is one of the symbols I found but not the most common one.

Well I've been pretty busy lately. You may have seen some of my updates on CMoN lately. Felt I should post something up here though. I've got some projects planned that I may only post here to lower exposure but still get feedback.

Excellent mate, I think the only weak parts are the parchment areas but they are not that weak.

Thanks for the comments, I'd like to fix the script on the tabard but I doubt I will. The picture is blurrier than I thought it was... Once I do more work on it I'll get a better pic.

i like the lettering on the leg, you do it with a brush or pen?

I like the reehand on the Libarian. I think I have mentioned this before, but the face of the libarian looks fantastic.
And btw, I saw lots of cool stuff earlier in this thread. All the IGs, the termies and the tau diorama looks very promising. Do you have some more recent pics of these?
Cheers

Thanks for the kind comments guys.
I used a brush for the freehand on the leg.
I actually havent got much of anything done on the IG, or the tau diorama... I primed and started painting one of the termies though... I may post up the picture when I have some free time.

I really like the freehand on that first one, that writing is amazingly done. Did you do it with brush, or some sort of stencil?
