This is looking quite promising. Myself, I don't like painting horses at all, I believe you mentioned the same. But it looks amazing, very sheer skin. The eyes look very menacing, which really suits the mini. The green is indeed out of place, but wonderfully blended. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished!

Thanks guys, yep the green does fell out of place for this character and originally I wasn't going to use green but the mini needed contrast and that seemed to be a logical choice. The brand is difficult to make stand out owing to the fact that the brown of the horse flesh is a warm lightish tone and therefore it is difficult to get that "pop" effect. I will go back towards the end and see if I can't do something about it. I do most certainly hate painting horses but I do love to see cool mounted models which is why I have a set of Chaos Knights to build and paint. I fitted the other hand that holds the reins yesterday and that was a bitch I can tell you with a huge gap between the wrist and arm that I have had to try and make good. The only thing in its favour there is that there is a dirty great shield that will cover it.

Only a small update this time, I managed to get the arm with the reins fitted which was no small feat I can tell you. That is the last of the difficult parts to get in place everything from now on is just plain painting and basing. and again the inevitable close ups. So now onto the fur on the cloak and the strap for the shield and then I can think about painting and mounting the shield in place.

Looks good, Tim! You have managed to attach the arm well--I couldn't tell you had a tough time with it. The teal green clashes a bit with the green of the armor, though in my IMHO.

Thanks guys, I was a bit apprehensive about the colour of the reins myself as James knows but I went with it and now the customer has seen it and really likes it so it will stay, which is just as well as it would be impossible to cover it all as there are parts now that just can't be reached with a brush but could still be seen when viewed.

I like it Tim...it is " clean" and the colour choices are excellent. I have always been a fan of less is more when it comes to amount and choice of colours on a figure and this one is perfect!
I can't wait to see it completed...
ArrrOOooo!

Outstanding work once more! The metallics are without flaw as always and the horns on the helmet are really cool.

So here is my latest mini, this is labeled as Maximillian from Tobsen77 who posts on frothers. I jokingly said send me one and I'll paint it and you can put the picture on your web store and he took me up on it. It is a nice characterful mini the only downside being that there is alot of prep work on the resin parts. Still I have enjoyed it so far, It won't be too long now before it is done so that is like speed painting for me lol.
