I think the whole model looks very neatly done and a whole unit like this would look very impressive on the tabletop. Its lucky my marines don't require a sharp paintjob like this or i'd be screwed! Long live dirty marines! When I achieve this standard I will be well pleased.

Awesome! The metallics look amazing as always, and the blending is very smooth. I'm not sure if I really like the colour combo between the greenish/yellow and the metallics but maybe that's because of the picture or my screen settings. Good job!

Wow--just getting better and better. The weathering on the metallics is spot on. One question, though; what is the gray area on the side of his left knee in the second photo?

Hehehe I managed to snaffle the wifes uber new camera and take some pics with it of the Chaos guy, really impressed with the way the pics turned out considering they are blown up quite large. It also shows up too the areas I need to improve on. And some close ups (owww the pain of it) the colourings on the metals and in the recesses are more visible as well as the actual colour of the green is closer to the real life look than the ones my camera takes as that is tending to over accentuate colours. Well rip em apart guys.

Tim these close up shots show just how neat your painting style is, check out the Luke McFarlene article in the latest WD and look at the close ups of his space marine - its half a page photo and it is perfectly neat - not one blemish or out of place line, the whole paintjob as smooth as a babies bum. So unless they photoshopped it , these close ups compare really well to this guys work. Well done. Now I have reason to get scared when anyone says closeup to me!! It looks great in my hand and on the table and then i get the magnifying glass to it and its ugly as sin.

On the contrary Tim, I think the closeups show what a great job you have done. Some blemishes are present, but anyone familiar with the hobby realizes the scale we work with. This guy is definitely one of my favorites in recent memory.

Thanks guys, @ manicminer no more progress on Boromir at present but I am hoping to carry on with him at some point today. Priority though is to finish the base on the Chaos Chosen and then get back to work on Boromir.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this completed. Is your camera accurately capturing the real colours? I took a photo of my sea monster which is being painted and the colours looked off and i couldn t get the photo to look like it does in my hand. Another question - do you take your pictures in good daylight? Just wondering if that can make a significant difference as well.

Thanks guys, I have done some red work in the symbol but it doesn't show up too well against the brown. Still i am not too bothered about that as it is not for me and also I wanted it to be more bloody as if it is etched into the skin rather than some magical branded symbol. The armour is also going to be a greenish colour. Not my choice but it is looking ok all the same.

Right update time I think, don't have a go at the armour colour as that is customers choice. This is taking far too long now so what you see so far is done and no more will be done to it unless I can get a good speed on with the rest. Once I have the whole mini completed I may go back over some parts and improve them furhter.

The skulls are fantastic. I really like the demon eyes of the horse as well. I think the green looks fine.

Thought you weren't going with the green? His choice I suppose. Looks good tho mate, skulls are nicely done too, the only thing for me is the brand, it looks a little flat for you, used to you making 'em pop a bit more.
