Thanks for the feedback guys, I must admit I have never seen my self as an inspirational person comment is very much appreciated. Thryth the rust on the anchor is just a base of Dark flesh then stippled over with Fiery and then Blazing Orange, a light drybrush of Boltgun Metal over that and then edged with Chainmail, finally I thinned down some Scaly Green and painted that in the creases of the anchor spikes. I guess it is the stippling that gives it the texture. I've used the technique alot on Orks and also Ogres so it alway seems to work well for me.

Time for a little update I think, I still haven't decided what colour to go with the head scarf though I am thinking along the lines of a nice bold green.

Very nice Tim!
I think a rich and warm green would be very good with this one, like dark angels green.

Sure mate, stippling works alot like drybrushing in as much as you dip the brush in paint and then wip alot of the access off on tissue the difference is you then dab the brush very lightly in a randome motion (i.e. no fixed or repetative pattern) over the surface you want to stipple. Also the brush should be cut short and the base of the bristles (where the point would be normally should be flat). Obviously a good brush that you use for painting should not be your first choice to use for stippling an old brush that has long since stopped being good enough for every day painting should be the one you sacrifice. One thing though I have found that it is natural fibre brushes that work best as opposed to synthetic fibre. I first used this technique when making model airplanes and was doing mottled camoflague as a wee lad but as you can see it has just as much use on minis too.

Right a long time since my last WIP's were shown but here is my latest project. Not happy with the trousers at this point and I almost certainly will be changing them to full on cammo's I think.

Well Master of Carnage is on hold as I have lost the inspiration for it so now I have started a female Khor Warrior that I have named Doris Hammerhand I will give you the full story behind the name when it is finished. So here she is, Lovely little sculpt but a bugger to paint with metallics.

Well as you know the Dwarfette is now done and in the showcase so here are some early WIP shots of the next mini, this is one of the Chaos chosen that I got from James for Christmas, I am doing something a little different on this one as I want it to be a warrior dedicated to papa Nurgle. Alot of smoothing out to be done on the armour yet but so far I am pretty pleased with how it is looking. I am also going to grime it up alot more as well.

Interesting...what colors are you using for the armor? Is this guy headless?

cheers guys, Jabber the colours are basically Camo Green, shaded by adding Dark Flesh and highlighted by adding Bleached Bone. I have also used Leviathan Purple wash and also Yellow Ink as glazes, more grime will be added with a bit of Asurmen Blue and Gryphon Sepia washes later but I will concnetrate those more on the chainmail areas, with probably some thrakka green too. The mini is not headless I will be painting that separately as the way it fits into the recess would make it practically impossible to paint properly.

taking a quick skim through (54 pages is a LOT ), I must say that your skin tones are remarkable. I love the ultra realistic look (very shiny, like the way I paint my space marine armour). I have never been able to accomplish it with flesh, though. Great job!

Cheers guys, yes this is one of the new Chaos Chosen models, I got some more done at Bru's on Friday last week but this is the first chance that I have had to actually get an update posted as I had to work two Day shifts this weekend (I usually do nights) so here you go an update, The metals are not finished as yet they still need some more shading in places and then some highlighting here and there but not too much as this is supposed to be Nurgle after all.
