Outstanding metallics as usual. Not sure about the green, but as I recall, you used a similar scheme on the Spartan and it came out excellently if I remember correctly.

I took a bit of a break from Kordius today, I bought this months White Dwarf magazine and of course the two free minis were on the front and I couldn't resist starting the Ork so here is the first WIP shots of the plastic Ork boy from Assault on Black Reach. Lovely mini in my opinion far better than any previous plastics that come with the games.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but could you tell me how you paint the skin on your Orks? I think it's brilliant and I'd like to try it on my free mini. Cheers, Wolf Fang

Thanks guys, Ork skin recipe
Catachan Green (base coat), Catachan Green/ Black (shade), Catachan Green (1st Highlight), Catachan Green/ Camo Green (highlight by adding more Camo Green until pure Camo Green), Camo Green/ Bleached Bone (final highlight). I also added a glaze of green ink heavily watered down, this is no longer available so I think a watered down Thraka Green wash might work as well.

Nice to see that up mate, looks cool, and I hope I didn't drool on it too much on Friday.

Tnanks guys, it didn't take much cleaning up mate to be honest the drool was the easy bit it was the other that took the time anyway moving very swiftly along here are some more WIP shots, I can't quite get the green to match on the other arm but it doesn't look too bad. I decided to go for a Death Skull Ork as I quite fancied doing the blue warpaint on the face, just the hand to do and a little tweak to the first arm here and there to try and make them match a bit better and then the skin is done.

I really like the blue face paint on these guys--reminds me of Mel Gibson's Braveheart movie.

Thanks, I want to give this ork a feel of being a loota after all he is a Deff Skull, so I have painted the armour plating as a miss match of different SM bitz, so far two pieces are Blood Angel and one piece is Imperial Fist though you can't quite see the logo as it is under his chin, I am going to weather them a bit more but they are near enough done which leaves me two pieces left to do which I will probably go for Space Wolf Grey, The photo has washed out the final highlight on the pants also the angle it has been taken from doesn't help either as the mini is going to be viewed more from above when complete.

Wow. I looks fantastic! Its a shame about the photo being washed out but either way, the pants look ace, as does the gun and armour

Do like what you have done so far. Just looked again at my one and thought the back looks a little "caved in".

Outstanding work there tim! The little details such as the purity seal are excellent. I would have torn the seal a bit so it looked as though it were literally ripped off of a marine but thats just my taste. Excellent skin work too
