The marine looks great, and especially the battle damage is great. Though I would suggest shading a bit darker in som areas. Looking forward to see it finished. The base is also very cool

Looking very good so far mate, the battle damage is nice. I am not keen on the armour colour but that is just me. Look forward to seeing this progress further.

thanks guys, @ mikkel, the lamp i use is not very good, it dilutes the colour somewhat, however irl you can see more of a tranisition but i will be adding more highlighting and some shading to areas that need it, @tim is it just the hue you dont like or the matt look to it? i will be adding a few layers of glaze to the finished mini to try and bring it up a little, any more suggestions are welcome

I think it is the hue, the red to me just doesn't seem right for Blood Angels, I think it needs to be a bit more intense in colour if you know what I mean. Glazing it might help do that so I'll watch with interest.

That red is coming along very nicely. And it looks like you found just the right size rock for that base, which is often hard to do. Great work so far (talking about the guy with the sword).
For the marine, that base rocks... I love that sewer grate. Was that part of the model or something you made?

thanks, i havnt done anything these past days because i have been very ill ( que violins please ) but i am hoping to get going again soon, the guy with the sword had an accident i am afraid but will get back to that one day its in the back log pile im afraid. the space hulk test base, glad you like it the sewer grate was from some metal mesh from a set of frying pan splash guards i picked up from the £1 shop, i have enough mesh to do a whole force for a quid, bargain or what!!! the chequer plate was embossed plasticard

For the crusader on the scenic base, perhaps a highlight? maybe with a lighter red or even an orange mixed with red? unless you have already completed it

He is looking really nice rogue. Maybe a little highlight on the eagle crest and dull it down a bit to match in with the rest of his suite.

For dried blood staining i found if you mix blood with glaze medium it will behave like paint, after a few days it looses the blood red look and darkens just like blood does i suppose, i use it on a sword recently and added just a few red specs of paint to liven it up a bit and was well pleased.. although rather than cutting yourself you may want to use some from the steak in the fridge;)
