Looking very good mate. I agree about dirtying the metals. One thing though. I'd suggest highlighting the green a bit further (with Rotting Flesh). Also a wash/glaze with some purple ink might make for a bit of a richer colour and make it stand apart a bit more from most other Nurgle models. But as it is right now it's looking mighty fine already. Cheers, Wolf Fang

He looks familiar! Agree with the guys Raz mate, darken up the metals a little bit and lighten the greens. I have recently been trying out the sponge scratches technique and I must admit I am quite happy with the result. Maybe in the future it might be something you can try.

For the scratches, and I have been meaning to try this myself, I saw an article that had good results. Lay a scratch using a reddish brown (like GW Vermin Brown), then follow it up with your metallic scratch, leaving just a bit showing.

Call me Vinny, mate! Only my mother calls me Vincent The greens are looking great now. Really really nice. As for the sponge technique, its really very simple. Get a piece of sponge (the foam in a blister pack should work fine!) and dip it in the colour you want so for scratches so either black or a rusty red. Then dap it on the edges of your armour. It gives a realistic damage pattern. Follow up by painting boltgun metal in the scratches leaving the red or black at the top of the scratch and then following up with some thin lines of white/bleached bone on the bottom to give that fancy 3D effect.

Holy cats, Razh. That battle damage is near perfect. I like the dark, dirty look of this mini. You are definitely continuing on your steady (and rapid) improvement...

;D thanks very much all of you!!! Btw, do you have any suggestions on the colur on the cloak? I haven't quite come up with a sutible colour so far. I was thinking of schorched brown up to kommando khaki, but I'm not sure anymore.

@wolffang here is how i did the green armour. Armour:Basecoat: Catachan green (roughly 50%) mixed with chaos black (roughly 35%) and shadow grey (roughly15 %). Started to highlight by adding more and more Catachan green in the mix (remember to keep the paint thin ) Once I had almost pure Catachan green I added some camo green. Do this till you’ve got like 25% Catachan green and 75 camo green. now Iwashed it with a mix of black and brown Ink and water(hmm I might have added a small amount of PVA glue too. Just dip thetip of the brush and add to the mix). Be sure to not let the wash pool, and apply two very thin layers. Once dry I started to rehighlight with Catachan green and camo green 50/50. adding more and more camo green till you get pure camo green, now for the final highlights I mixed camo green and rotting flesh 50/50 and highlighted up to pure rotting flesh. And last I washed it with a very diluted purple ink. (and I also mixed in some red ink after the purple wash and painted this on some random places to get a “sick” look) Sorry if its hard to understand what I have written, and this is just how I remembered it the mixes might have been a little different, but not much. Cheers, André

That's completely understandable, thanks mate. Not going to do that on the armour plates, but going to use it as the colours for the cloak. Looking forward to seeing the finished warrior. Cheers, Mil

Thanks for the recipe. I will be painting typhus, maybe for Griffon Throphy 2008, and I think I'll might use that recipe for the armour ;D

Nice looking chaos warrior. My chaos warriors were amongst the first models I ever did and seeing yours has made me want to go back to them and splatter them up with some green Nurgley goodness. Good scratch effects and colour choices. Now lets see it finished, nobody is allowed to be slower than me, hehehe.

Okay here it is. I might go up a little more on the highlighting on some parts and I am going to make it a bit darker on the mini's left side. Thanks for looking
