Not too bad but I am not liking the striated highlights too much at the moment, that may change the more you do, also the highlight on the knee pad is a little harsh. With a little more smoothing out and a little more work though you should be able to make this mini alot better.

Glad to see you back at the brush, Andre! I know the feeling... I think I would be inclined to agree with Tim on the highlighting. It gives me the impression of something wooden as opposed to metal. If that is the effect you are doing for, then it looks great!

I agree with jabber there, it looks like the armour could be wood but I like the effect.
Like Tim said maybe blending the highlights in a bit more would really add to this guy, were you planning to do some more work on his armour?

thanks guys! I can do nothing but agree. The armour isn't supposed to look like metal, nor wood. I wanted to go for something "scaly" if you know what I mean...
I think I will leave this guy I feel almost embarrased (sp?) showing him. I think i will dig up a dwarf world mini instead and try him/her out. also I will make a start on my MP gobbo soon. lets hope I don't ruin them.......

thanks your your comment! wow its been a while since I updated this thread! Anyway, I planned to enter theoden in the awards, but with the deadline tomorrow I realized I wouldn't be able to finish him to the standard I want. so I thought I should make a WIP thread here instead. Things I will change: The Horse is a bit messy on places, I will fix that. the gloves and the lower part of the tunic will be repainted. C&C are welcome as always! Cheers, Andre

The face is excellent Andre! I might suggest the upper parts of the tunic (left arm and neckline) have just the smallest additional highlighting. Nitpicking, really, but I think that would add to the model. The other parts you are reworking, so I'll hold my thought (for now, .

Some real good stuff in here Andre - particularly like the white dwarf and the dude with the gatling gun. I thought the entry you did in the last painting contest was also very impressive. Keep em coming!

A good way to jump back into the hobby Andre, glad to see it I agree with dennis. The hint of blue in the armor looks great. I would have used a bronze, though i'm looking forward to seeing what your plans are with it
