I love the 'feel' of this mini, it is very much what i expect from myself when painting lotr. There is a certain amount of authenticism which is admirable and to date this is my fave of your minis, your improvement is outstanding

I have relized today that I won't have time enough to finish the diorama, instead i'm going to make a smaller one with just the orc, peasant and one or two snotlings. i might also be able to use the squigs in the regiment catagory (if i paint one more squig and two herders).
Any thought or suggestions?
Thanks,
André

I'll call this thread "Razhburz's WIPs" from now on.

I'll call this thread "Razhburz's WIPs" from now on. Not a bad idea Andre, sort of skip this at times 'cause i still have the nurgle geezer associated with it! start anew..... 'Razh's ever improving' mini thread!!

Wow, razh, he is really come a long way since I last checked in. I would suggest just a small, very diluted, brown wash for the axe head but other than that he is amazing.
Keep em coming.

I thought I should post this here too, like Tim, since not every one read the CIN forum. I finally got some more done, though on another mini I painted this in GW stockholm and tried out the new paints as a base coat on the skin. they work very well and I will probably end off buying them. this is the first time I try OSL (on te necron eyes) I will also try to give the blue warpaint the same wash as i did on the skin (DA green and lieche purple) Thanks for looking. C&C are very welcome Cheers, André

Looks good mate I think there needs to be a brighter highlight closer to the eyes and also on the eyes themselves to realy make it stand out. There is a good tutorial on glowing eyes on Cmon I will try and find it and link it to you.

It certainly is and if I don't get cracking on the Orks again soon I fear that I might not get done either.

hmm lets hope we can finish it off. I ave kinda the same problem, I am in a really LOTR mood but I "force" myself to paint these first (and the MM entry which I have started to loose interest in (the mini not the contest).) I have been thinking of batch painting the orks 3 and 3, though trying to get the same standard as the one above. Does batch painting really speed up the painting??? Thanks

I am really liking the blue hands... a nice contrast to the green skin.
As far as batch painting goes, this is my take...
if you are motivated on the project it works. For instance, look at the night goblins I have been doing, I do them five at a time and have been getting them done "fairly" quickly. On the other hand, I have been trying to paint my savage orcs three at a time and just can't get motivated to get them done. I get more done on them by picking up one and painting something on it, but the problem is that the other 7 still need the same things painted on them - so in the long run it takes longer, IMO.

ahh I see, thanks mate. I think I will try to batch paint three of them and see how it works Now to something a bit different. I felt I needed something new to paint so I ended up starting on this guy. being a bit of a nurgle fan I decided to go for a greenish scheme on the armour, please tell me what you think Thanks, Andre

looks cool so far, the scratches and nicks look great, try adding some dark brown ink to dirty them up abit and then touch it again with the metallic, the green looks cool aswell. keep it up mate

Great start andre. Quite different from the other stuff I have seen from you The armour looks very promising. I would suggest adding some darker colours (black, browns) to the metal scratches to make them look a bit more dirty.
