This spring GW Stocholm will hold a Pianting competition wich I hopefully will be able to enter. There will be three different catagories: Single Model, Regiment/unit and open catagory. And you can enter more than one mini in each catagory. aslong as they are from different game systems. I haven't quite decided on what to do yet. but I will try to make a LOTR dirama, maybe a ORk unit (the one for the children in need) and two single minis. I don't know how much of this I eill be able to finnish till april. but I will do my best. Here is one for the single mini cat: I did some converting as you can see. Thanks for looking, Razh

Hahaha, that's exactly the same mini as I am working on at the moment, and mine is for a painting competition too ;D He looks good, and I like the spike thing on his shoulder. I don't like the head though, that's why I changed the head on mine. But it looks good, even thought it's quite early. Good luck in the competition ;D

Great mini, easy to see why it is popular choice, check out this link; www.coolminiornot.com/109756Good luck in the comp. I'd say give as much time to one mini at a time instead of having too much to do at once, then you can give the mini all the tender loving care it needs to do well in a comp, if it's finished in plenty of time then start your next entry...and so on. If we can help at all shout up

Thanks for your comments guys If I'm not to tired after school today I'll start to paint him Great mini, easy to see why it is popular choice, check out this link; www.coolminiornot.com/109756Good luck in the comp. If we can help at all shout up Yeah I was thinking of doing so (though my head is full of idea which makes it more complicated ) And thats a wonderful mini of Jakob! Great metals. I was thinking of doing some thing like that but with some green shades in it (i is a nurgle bloke after all). How do you think he did the metals. used washes? Thanks again for your feed back and I'm eager to paint now! Cheers, Razh

I wouldn't like to second guess how Jakob has done the metals, best leave it up to him! Follow the tutorials link for metals here; www.jrn-works.dk/

JRN's metallic tutorial is fantastic, its what i followed for my vargas figure, but just changed it a little bit to suit my painting.
For the blood Jakob uses its Tamiya Clear Red mixed with Black then carefully drybrushed or stipled on. That mix is a real pain to use because the clear red is like an unset jelly, then once anyhting is mixed in it gums up within a few minutes (i could leave finger print marks after about 5mintues) But once it has dried it leaves great 'splatter' results, where as i think TIm's red ink method is better for large stains, such as on big axes and large weapons.

I like the unhealthy look to the skin, though I feel you could go lighter still on the highest parts, as for the eyes they are tiny on this mini as I recall to make them really stand out is going to be difficult as I don't think there is a very deep recess in the eye sockets to give a good dark contrast. I think so far he is looking mighty fine matey.

The face looks good, I like the skintone. Not much to comment so far.
But how are you going to paint the metals? I think you should use just metals with lots of green and brown washes. I think just green armour looks bad and won't look good along with the face.
Golden Griffon, a painting competition is in April too (finals in may), and it will be cool to se how we both do in the competitions ;D

Thanks Jabber here is a small update. I have followed Tim's suggestion ( which he gave me in the chat room not here) to add some green around the eyes and the nurgle symbol. I have also tried to make him more pale. and I have painted some clothes aswell. Thanks for looking André

I really like it so far, great work Andrè! I like the head and the face, but I'm not so sure about the eyes though And the base is very cool too, and the hand is cool. I did a similiar thing on my Nurgle Lord. I'm really looking forward to see how you paint the metals. The metal areas cover most part of the mini, and metal areas are one of my favourite parts of a mini ;D Keep up the good work!

Cheers buddies Here is one more update. I have painted some of his armour. I'm going to paint the armour piece by piece since I'm a bit scared of large metal areas. I have also done a bit more on the eyes. Thanks for looking, Razh/André

The tarnished torso armour is looking very good and suitably tarnished and uncared for.

The armour looks really great and weathered, but I would suggest some greens to make him look more nurgle-ish.
Great work so far!
