Looking awesome, but in answer to your question I would say that there definately needs to be a bit more contrast between armour and clothing.

I really like the kneepads, looks great. I would suggest to add some more green, and maybe some darker browns

Razh, Love the jaundice eyes, definitely working for him. The only thing that is bothering me at the moment is his lip/teeth, they sort of blend together. A bit of darklining (very small amount) may help this.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for you comment matey any suggestions on how to add the green Mikkel? I tried with a wash aof ark angels gree mixed with catachan green. it looked rubbish On my nurgle lord, I sort of ruined the armour several times with green washes. My problem was that I used too much paint in the wash. My impression was that the greens have more pigment than some other colours (I may be wrong of course). I would suggest using many very very thin washes with different greens. I haven't tried this myself, but I would suggest adding some thin green glazes along with the washes. Use some dark browns and dark greens (washes) in the rececess (sp?) and deepest parts of the armour and glaze with some lighter greens and maybe some browns. Hope this helps

Looks great Andrè. I really like how the eyes turned out, looks very psycho It looks like he is watching the water and waiting for a spawn of nurgle to arise:)

Mmmm tough one that I was going to say keep it in theme with the armour but then that might be a bit too much of the same colour, you could go for a conventional steel look and then oxidate it making it look rusty and uncared for that might work. Anyhow however you are going to do it the mini is looking great mate.

I would say doing it as a contrast to the browns and greens. At the moment you have a near analogous scheme with brown and green. If you add a complementary colour (sparingly) you will create a split complement scheme, which will draw attention to the complementary colour and the head.

Reet, iv done a bit of 'research'. Purple. It is a complement of the brown and green and it is an authoritive colour that denotes royalty, spirituality, nobility and ceremony. Its positive assciociations included wisdom and enlightenment, but it can be used in a negative context to suggest cruelty and arrogance. Seems to be pretty much the perfect colour for what you are doing.

here is yet one more update. I tried to a few different ways of making the metal purpurish but I was not good enough for this so I decided to go for a more "cold" loook but with some rust on it. I'm not totally happy with it, neither with the spear tip so any suggestions and comments are welcome (as usual ) I know the pics are bad and I'm very sorry about that but I could not get any better than that at the moment Thanks for looking

The metallics are great in the front, the almost silver highlites look perfect. On the back it looks like it was not highlited so much, perhaps you could match the front to the back? Except for that tiny detail, it looks awesome!

Well mate don't be too disappointed I think he still looks ok, a good way to do rust is to thin down Dark Flesh quite heavily and gradually build up the colour in glazes over the areas you want to look rusty, it also helps to vary the colour a little by adding glazes of darker browns and also a little orange too. Another way is to paint the area in a base of Dark Flesh then stipple first Blazing Orange and then Fiery Orange then you can just very lightly drybrush boltgun metal over the top and I mean lightly. any sharper edges can be picked out with chainmail to finish. This is stil a very good mini though so don't get too disheartened.

Wow, this one is coming along really nicely. That skintone is definitely working for him. Loving the armour in the front as was mentioned, but the back needs some work, but I think that is easily achieved. I think also once you start hitting some of the other detail (the wood shaft and the cloth between his legs) it is really going to start looking done.

Thanks mate I have taken a small brake from him now, though. I need to think out how to do the rest before I continue. any advice on how to highlight the back? Thanks André

Not sure that it needs any more highlighting so much as it needs some more washes to make the armour look more diseased and worn... couple of green, brown, and reddish brown washes should do the trick (just keep them really thinned down so you don't overdo it).

I like the originality of how you've managed to make the armour look as it is, it's a confusing state and i think it suits the mini well, perhaps some deeper tones to add contrast but overall a sterling job... i'm just a bit concerned i see a lot of texture in your finish, are you thinning the metals enough or is it the age old cant get a decent pic problem!
