One more quick question regarding the "continuity" of the army. I assume we are doing metallics instead of NMM for all the metal bits?

this is going to be all metalics mate, I think as that is the easier thing to do (especially for me).

All right! My Stormboyz arrived and much earlier than I thought they would. Kind of a funny thing though. A friend of mine was over when the box arrived. While we're talking, I opened the box and started taking out the sprues and looking them over. She says, completely serious, "You have to put them together? I thought they came all put together for you." Instantly, this popped into my head. I couldn't help it; I just started laughing. I just thought it was funny. On the topic of the Stormboyz, would you recommend pinning, especially the heads, or would some Zap-A-Gap be enough?

I think that with the models being sent through the mail that pinning might not be a bad idea.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some assembly instructions for Stormboyz? I've done some looking around on the GW site as well as some 'net surfing, but I can't seem to find anything.
The box they came in had some very basic instructions, but I'm looking for something a bit more detailed, especially as far as rules go. I don't want to put something together only to find out that they're not done correctly. I also seem to have a bunch of extra pieces and no idea what they're for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Holidays have put me a bit behind but i now have 2!! of the same Orc Warbosses, couldn't resist having a go at one for me own collection.. his head is over have the size of a 1st Alliance high elf!! Okey dokey, off to catch up on the basing ideas and get these babies primed As for nmm and metallics, i honestly think it more difficult to do complex metallics than nmm!

@ Hinton- As far as assembling Stormboys go, I have found that the heads with Helmets work best- both the metal and plastic ones.
As they are great assult troops game wise, arm them with sluggas and choppas (pistols and axe/knife/chainsword thingies) so that the gamer can fly them across the board and get them into combat where 2 assult weapons gives them an extra attack.
You could always replace a few choppas with the stickbombs for a bit of variation too.
You will need to use the metal Torso's as these have the space for the rocket on the back and the fuel canister on the stomachs.
There are soom very cool stormboys on CMON where a length of wire has been pinned joining the base to the rokkit exhaust and smoke/flames have been sculpted around this to make the boys look like they are taking off. Shawn.R.L and Aveceinna have some very cool examples of this on their CMON gallery if you are feeling really adventureous!!
Hope this helps mate.

Hey Tim, its Vic
Was wondering if I could join the project? Would give me some space in expanding my knowledge by painting some greenskin fellows.
Could I ask if you could not load me with a large piece or so? Currently preparing for GD and I need all the time I can, but I also wanted to particpate in this since its for a good cause.
Thanks mate

Hi Vic, welcome to the site, yes you can join in, I will have a look at the army list again and then i will see what we can add but I am sure there is something that will do. I need to update the list again anyhow.

Thanks, orkydave; that definitely helps. Not sure if I'm adventurous (or brave) enough to try sculpting some flames/smoke coming out of the rockets, but since there were eight in the box and I only need 5, maybe I will.

Glad to help! Theres a thread on CMON under the 40k message board regarding Stormboyz, and someone has typed out the codex description for unit size, weapon options etc if this may also help.

Say i do an amazing job on the minis i am painting and i am confident to enter them into Games Day, would this be alright? Obviously i couldn't keep em, unless i painted more up afterwards, but i was just wondering.

If you did well, that would actually add value to the army as well, I would think!

Thats what i was thinking! If there was a few finalist squads it would really boost the advertisement of the army, because then the buyer/bidder would know that it is of GD standard.

That is fine by me, I too think that if any GD finalists and dare I say even winners were to be in there then that would certainly add to the final sale price I think, I am also thinking of entering the Kommandos I do if I go this year.

Thanks mate Vtraxx aka Vic how about a painboy as I don't think we have one at the moment later today I am going to have a look at the list of jobs and see what sort of force we have coming together I will then compare this to the codex and see just how usable the army we are buillding is.

A painboy may not be a good call as you are only allowed 2 hq choices, which we have met with Ghazgull and the big mek.
If the year just gones dates are anything to go by then Gamesday and Golden Demon is a month or two before the main Children in Need fundraising day so entering should not be a problem- it may actually be an advantage as the miniatures could be handed to Tim in person if in the UK!

How large will this ork army be 1500pts? (not that it matters, I just wanted to know ). Sorry for this question, but I have been wondering. This army will cost quite some money to build, will someone be willing to pay more than that, on an internet action? i'm not so used to how it work on ebay so sorry for my dumb question. Razh
