GSG: I have just talked to some guys at warseer. You can have a unit of grots in a ork army, but you have to include a slaver.
Just thought I'd let you know.

Yup the big mech is the one matt, GSG you can have different gunz in the unit and the theme for the army is Cityfight as far as basing goes. The scenic display side of things is something that I would like to do per unit stand but not essesntial Dagorlad is doing one as he is awesome at that sort of thing, if we get the chance and depending on how many units we are talking about it would look cool to do display plinths per unit but like I say not essential.

i got some cut up spru, if i just glue that and a bit of gravel and sand to the base's and paint grey's, will that be alright for cityfight style?

I think I we will have to have a basing discussion so that we are all going to get the miis to look similar but that is the sort of thing that I was thinking of.

Finally found where this got moved to. I see that Tim put me down for 5 Stormboyz. That works for me. Now, I if can just find out what they are, where to get them, what color to paint them and what their bases are supposed to look like, I can get started.

Stormboyz are orks with rokkits on their backs, as for painting check out the images I posted of mine in the who's doing what thread but ignore the bases, that is the sort of look I am going for so variations on that would be good.

Ok, I have a small problem. I went to the shop and they didnt have any! Also GW has made the direct only and with the hight tax rates for that sort of thing and shipping ordering them would be bitch. I'm trying to get some of ebay. They have two lobbas I'm gonna try to get three and convert them slightly so they arn't the same. I that doesent work out i'll do a unit of grotz.

we can advertise these pieces as eye candy.. not forgetting to mention the awards the painters have! Not to volunteer Sully or Raccy for the job, but I wonder if there might be some cool design or other tech stuff that could be put together for the e-bay page. Having a list of the painters (at least listed on the E-bay page) may be a double edged sword. The name recognition would be great, but it seems like TAB and company has some problems with their painting event for the Katrina victims. Basically if your name is listed anywhere on the page, it excludes you from bidding. Bidding on work you have done is referred to as "shill bidding" and is not allowed by E-bay, to prevent an owner from artificially raising the bid to get more money.

Tim has already contacted me about this, but I thought I'd stick it in here as well.
If someone can create a set of masters for cityfight bases, I'll happily cast up as many as is needed to base the whole army, that way you've already gone half the way to tieing the whole thing together.
10 or 15 x 25mm 5 x 40mm 5 x 50/60mm
would probably be enough variation I reckon. I'd make the masters as well, but I'm swamped with painting work at the moment. Anyone up for a challenge?

Thanks mate.

This is for spacemunkie as well. What sort of level of complexity can we do (or do we want)? It is easy enough to make rubble bases. I did this one using the GW basing kit but could do ones without using a variety of bits (since we wouldn't want to step on GW IP). How would this go with the display base idea?

@dr E: That base looks class! That would mould up no probs. As for detail, the moulds will pick up the tiniest amount, just stay away from massive undercuts and remember that models have to stand on them!

Just wanted to let you all know that I've ordered my Stormboyz. Given that it's the holiday season and all, it'll probably take a couple weeks to get here. Once they do, though, I'll start in on them right away.
