I've been concentrating more on the dead termie once this is finished which shouldn't be tool long now, (I have an idea for a base but not the knowledge on how to achieve it lol) I can get on with other commitments that have been waiting far too long, sorry for that dog and otherworld but I really wanted to do this one for myself as this is the first mini that I have painted for me in months.

Feeling a bit sorry for Be'Lakor n Ithandir but i've been doing nout but sculpting, this obsession with making a unique de command unit has taken over painting WIP pics coming up, i should have done some sooner for feedback but hey! can't stop!! Have to confess my immediate feelings about pro create were a little premature, bar superfine milliput i think it's great now, may try mixing the 2??

Managed to get some more work done on Gideon by sacrificing sleeping hours, which isn't that big of a deal for me since i'd rather be painting then anything else right now...except for maybe cooking... Hoping to retake some of Brother Leon's photos so they don't look as bad and i can post 'em.

Well, with my space hulk set being put on hold like my other projects because something else has come up, i have been working on the wonderfully sculpted Darkhand Bust, done by our very Dogfacedboy! Hopefully i'll find my card reader soon and i can show you what i've got so far.

I have been painting!!!! Now you have picked yourself off the floor from the shock and horror of my revelation, i will continue....
The wererat bust "In The Shadows" was sent to me by the guys at Grey Matter last week or the week before maybe hehe, and I have decided to do a painting WIP of it - check my WIP thread later today or tonight for photos. Painting the leather hood at the moment where I will go through the colours used blow by blow to see what suggestions and thoughts you guys have on it all! This is the first time i have painted something sculpted by myself so i guess i won't be doing the dreaded wondering what the hell certain parts are meant to be!! Bonus.

Got a little more work done on he Darkhand bust's face. Added a bit of red to some of the scars, and took care of the eye. Also put a base coat of dark red onto the tongue and gums, and am hoping to finish the mouth up tonight. I'll try to post something if i finish it. Also started on the cloak.

Work continues on the Darkhand Bust, as the face is a simple color away from being done. I have a base coat on the tunic...thingy (not quite sure what it's called), and have tried something new with the cloak which looks better then my first attempt. I have a few more layers to do on there, and then i can say it's possibly done. I'm still not sure what to do for the hood, but i'm tempted to have it be a dark shade of either red or blue...probably red...i dunno. I'll try and snap a few photos at some point so you guys can see.

Face is done, along with the patch minus one tiny detail i want to add. Got a base coat color on the hood. I've decided to try for a dark red and see how that looks, although it'll likely end up going to regular black after i put all the time and effort into getting this the way i want, but i'm hoping for the best. Also added some highlights then a wash on the tunicthingy. Also have been doing little tid bits on Gideon. His base is done, along with his shield and the little bits of writing i had to do on the scrolls. Still some gemwork to do, and a fair bit on the hammer arm, though the hammer itself is nearly done. Hoping to do more tonight

I think the actual bust of the Darkhand is done (finished up the patches), but the display base thing hasn't even been started, so i can't call the bust done yet. Painted the legs and base of my Chaos Terminator Lord but since no other part of him was primed, i couldn't paint them and trying to prime something at this time would wake everyone up and make them mad...not good...so i finished up gideon (post him if you wanna have a look). Busy night...hoping to have the same kind of night tomorrow!

Did some touch up work the bust, and painted a large amount of my Chaos Terminator Lord which i have chosen to go with Khorne (red and gold) as my chosen god. Some parts of this guy i try on, but others i just do a half assed job on...hm...wonder how he'll turn out in the end. Got the parts i need to made te display base for the bust and have started work on that. I'll post some pictures as soon as i can of both.

Nothing.....absolutley nothing...... Since I went back to work about 6 months ago, and coupled with family commitments I've had little time for painting. Hopefully that will level itself out after Xmas. (atcually been nice to have a break, after having to paint for commissions, should now give me a chance to dip into my own leadpile)

finally found a matt varnish that worked the way a mat varnish is supposed to and did a coat on the darkhand bust. Went back with gloss varnish and picked out the eye, mouth, and little metallic sections. Also completed by Chaos Terminator Lord for my lazy painting (i'll explain that later) and primed two more projects. Practiced a little for the swirly column stuff. Still need to practice a bit before i have the guts to put it on the column itself.

Scarecrow - get a small pack of fimo or super sculpey - this should not cost you much and use this to practice sculpting, it has a lot of different properties when compared with greenstuff and is probably harder at first as it is quite soft, but it will alllow you to practice sculpting without actually costing you anything other than a few dollars. It has to be baked to harden it so you have enless playtime!

Interesting idea. I actually ended up bying a large piece of clay that air drys for a couple bucks, and i have been playing around with that. I personally hate clay that has to be oven baked, and it took forever to find this airdry stuff >.<
As i was in the store (you had mentioned using milliput) i realized something after i couldn't seem to find it. It went like this: "Hmm...well, he IS in the UK...that might be a UK brand...crap...what's the US brand equivilant of milliput?" But i found a good thing to play with and after i manage to get ahold of one more thing, i should be able to just about finish the sculpting process and i can deal with the painting.

For what it's worth, I get Milliput in the US. There are several types, by the way.

I couldn't find it at all. What stores do you find it in?

Most art stores and model shops should stock it, also try plumbing section at hardware stores as it is also a putty plumbers use as it sets hard under water. Try online store failing that. the one you one is either white superfine or green/grey. i use the green grey myself but have both. a pack costs about £2 over here, so i imagine its even cheaper for you.

Well, after looking in a crap load of stores and still being unable to find milliput, i simply ordered some online. Should be here in a couple days, and then i can make a better column. Oh well, might be a nice break to get another model or two done.
Speaking of which, i did the armor and robes on my Empire Warrior Priest, as well as primed my High Elf and began to assemble my Vampire Count Lord. Still need to add some green stuff to fix the chainmail, but he's probably the last character i'm going to get to. Lots of work, but looking forward to trying some new things.

Started working on a space marine sergeant, blood angel chapter, today. Basically because I want to practice my reds. Also finished the ork, and the base. Unfortunately I lost the charger of my camera battery sometime during the move, so I'll have to find (buy) another one before I can show some pictures.

Redid the column with greenstuff and have started my high elf who i don't remember the name of. Solid white is a pain to try and get.
