Arrrggghhhhhh!!!! This is hard! So many great minis! But, I have finally decided. My Vote goes to Zappy, I just love the colour combination, the dark skintone, the white hair and light greens work very good on this mini. Also the sword is very nice!
Well done everyone!

Yup looks like the rest are fighting for the runners up spot it was a tough choice but in the end I voted for tadme's entry it is technically good as well as there is a big improvement in the quality of the painting too compared to earlier works that he showed on the site.

How am I supposed to choose between all these entries! Well done to everyone, for really making a great competition, some amazing pieces there.
I'll not make my decision just yet. Still another bit of studying of the pictures to do yet I think.

I finally went for Zappy's entry, to be honest I would have voted for Andre's entry but he didn't need my help at all I love the vivid colours zappy managed to pull off with his entry. Well done man.

Gosh, such an excellent array of entries. I haven't seen too much from the WoM regulars for a while but the improvements from you all is so apparent, well done. There are no losers here, but there must be a winner....
When I looked at first I thought Andre's mini was excellent, but as I scrolled down I realised the choice wasn't so easy. CC's work is amazing, loving Zappy and Bru's style, Jabberwocky as Bru Said has attempted and successfully realised pinstripes on a quirky cool mini, I could go on and on....
So the wiiner for me is..... ......mmmm......... .......mmmmmmm....... .......I just don't know yet!

Thanks man! I just want to bring this thread to your attention. www.worldofminis.proboards101.com/index.cgi?board=mininostalgia&action=display&thread=1509That elf was only painted five years ago! I think the improvement in Andre's painting over those five years is absolutely amazing, and he's a really inspiration to people (including me) about the amount of improvement a person can achieve if they are willing to learn from people and work at it. Well done man.

Well done man. Everyone should have progressed in 5 years or it wouldn't be owrth carrying on painting. Look at some of my stuff from 5 years ago and you'll see that I'd have never even attempted freehand in any form, let alone having a crack at OSL..(see showroom). It's a well painted mini, in that theres no doubts, but the two things that niggle me are it's a 54mm scaled mini, so the room for extra detailing is there, and theres no use of freehand at all and at that scale theres room for loads, plus it's in the same old greens and browns that he always uses.....nothing new. Don't want to sound like an old grump, but they have been niggling me all week. (and before anyone says it's sour grapes, I don't care who wins as long as it's fair and a worthy winner, I've won many places here already)

Sorry to have bothered you bru. trust me, it wasn't my intention.
I see some of your points and will try to improve. As for the contest I did like everyone else. I Painted a mini according to the rules. I haven't asked anyone to vote for me. And so its seems all fair too me.

Oh no mate don't worry, it's just silly little things that bugged me, no offence intended. Ahh good! Always hard to really know what a person means when writing over the net like this with no eye contact etc. And as for the freehand, the main reason I left it out is that I'm crap at it and didn't want to ruin this mini. Will have to practise on that. MAny thanks for your C&C, its welcomed. And thanks also to everyone who has voted for me
