For the leather you can take different types of brown. Than shadow them with a mixture of black and brown and for the highlight put a bit bleached bone into the brown.

Nice start, I congratulate you on getting Harry's base together, is that the Termie from WD 345 I am currently painting the ork and will do that next. I like the choice of gold for the helmet.

It is indeed that terminator. I plan on getting to the ork eventually... I saw how it was goin for you and nice job so far The base too forever to figure out and i was a little reluctant to glue it before painting it but i'll just have to see what happens...

Oooh, I really like the shield on this guy! I might suggest a brown wash on the skull on the chest to dirty it up a bit.

This looks like it will be your best work yet, the red is really vibrant and the shield is excellent so far, I would add a glaze or two over the shield using ultra thin paint rather than the washes or inks of greens (Dark Angel Green) and maybe a nice brown like Snakebite Leather just to enhance it a bit, then when dried you can re pick out some of the highlighted features. Once that is done vert de gris would look ace in some (not all) of the recesses, if you have Scaly Green then that works a treat, thin washes in the recesses built up gradually and then add a touch of white into it just to lighten it in places looks really effective. Keep it up mate it is looking excellent so far.

update time!! I've actually had a bit of time to paint lately, so i thought I'd keep moving on my chaos lord. I did what i could to take your guys' advice about the shield, though I'm hesitant to add the verdigris, but maybe I'll do that eventually. Here's the Shield: I did more work on the horse, and had to put the base on him since he kept getting knocked over and i was getting really tired of glueing the horns back on. They aren't the actual horns that it came with >.< I think i was dumb and tossed them by accident, so i resculpted some with my outstanding sculpting abilities Still a fair bit of work to do, as you can probably see, buts its coming along nicely i think. Sorry about the bright pictures.

Agreed--the shield looks very good. The reds looks a bit shiney to me, but nothing a bit of Dullcoat won't take care of.

Well, it's been a while since i posted something in here, but while i was taking photos of my scout project, i figured i'd catch a few snap shots of Brother Scipio in the works. The armor is pretty much done, though i might add another bit of edging highlights. I also took went to take a picture of the arm, but i couldn't get a good one, so just use your imagination as to what it looks like for now

in the photo the red appears to have a beautiful quality that i'd be afraid to dullcote/hard coat etc, i think you've got that armour to a t.....
