ok - firstly this is blatantly stolen from CMON - but i think it may be a nice idea to do over here on Wom. and secondly mods and admin if this is in the wrong forum please move it . i would like to do a miniature exchange on the world of miniatures forum - sending people unwanted brand new minis and being sent some in return - though you do not know what you ate getting from the person. i would like to here your feedback on the idea and if the mods/admins support this idea? i would be happy to organize most of it (mainly the list of who's sends to who using something like randomiser) you can read the CMON rules in the link below and i would like to hear your views on it. www.coolminiornot.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=18377thanks Bolger

I did raise the idea some time back on this site but what with one thing and another it got forgotten about there was some reasonable interest in it, and I for one would like to see it happen.

We need to have more takers on this otherwise it will be a no goer, I like the idea myself and would be quite prepared to take part in it.

I ahve not really understand what it is. (sorry for that but I am as you know Swedish) Well, if it runs just like CMON's, then the exchange consists of mailing off some of your unpainted minis to another person. It basically started as a way for people to get rid of minis that they didn't think they would every get around to painting themselves. The sender does not get the minis back. The receiver of the minis is supposed to paint one up but it's not mandatory (after all, what's not inspiring to one painter may not be inspiring to the next as well). And it's not a paired up thing either, but more 'linear". For example, if 5 people sign up (A,B,C,D, & E) it's A sends minis to B who sends to C --> D --> E --> to A. So does that explain it or did I jsut confuse you more?

i like the sound of it but would prefer not to recieve paited mini's in exchange, so if its unpainted for random unpainted then i would do that?

Yeah it is unpainted for unpainted. We do not swap painted stuff as that kinds of defeats the object of the whole thing. This is starting to take shape nicely.

would stripped mini's be ok as long as they were stripped properly?

Mmm I should think so as long as they are stripped properly though as I have stripped minis in the past that were pretty poor when received.

How it works on Cmon is that people usually send at least two so that the receiver gets a choice but after that it is entirely up to you.

I think it would be an idea to start this off. I would be more than happy to send of the first mini, just to get the whole thing started.
Otherwise we can say that the posting order on this topic is the order we post mini's how does that sound to everyone?

Ok guys later today I will post a list of people and the order to post in, I think we should leave off posting for a day or two more though just in case there are anymore who wish to take part. I will also write up a brief outline of the idea. It may also be an idea if you could say if you are ok with posting abroad or within your own country of origin.
