Mutantpotato that is not realy in the spirit of this thread so please no more questions on that score. Tim spacemunkie was offering for those that need the 60mm bases just a couple of posts before mutantpotatoes post. He was simply replying to that.

Children In Need is around October November I think so we have a few months yet, but let us not get too complacent the time soon slips away.

Unfortunately i don't think i can paint 5 Nobz, due to family stuff, college, bit of a pressure to get em done (I know its a few month more, but it all slips away!) But iv been talking to Talonicus and he is going to paint two of em which il send him over. So il do the other 3. Hope this is alright, but i didn't want to just pull out and leave you all in dead lumber, i would have felt a bit guilty to say the least!

Hi guys matt Crown is taking over the organising the to do list, I would think that to move things around would be ok as long as we know who is doing what. Tim M again I think we should have no problems fitting you in with a task or two

Bases are done and will be in the post to Tim tomorrow.
I don't mind chipping in with some painting if anything needs doing either.

Well, I'm nearing completion of my test ork and should have some more pics of him up here in the next couple of days. If everything looks good, I'll be starting in on the 5 "regular" Stormboyz for the army.
I was thinking about painting the orks slightly different; some having dark brown pants while others aren't as dark, slightly different greens for the skin, etc, just so they don't all look the same. Is that ok as long as I don't deviate from the overall theme?

I'd like to help with this too if it isn't too late. Being evil I tend to avoid anything charitable, but as it's greenskins you have picked I could make an exception here! Have to admit I've not read every post here (so I may have missed this) but is there anything left that could be done? I haven't noticed any sort of full army list worked out yet, so I'm not sure what's required. Checking the thread about contributors and the units they are painting there seems to be (from a gaming point of view at least) some holes in the list that I could perhaps plug. I'm not overly productive, but could probably do a few specialists/nobz, or a few more wargear minis (like ammo runtz, attack squigs, that sort of thing) so let me know. I've been using Orks fairly competitively for a few years too. Have had mixed success for sure, but I'm OK (Just missed out on a top 10 finish in the 2006 40k Doubles with them.) so I could work out an army list if it would be helpful too.

@lono--
Tim is running the show, but I am sure he wouldn't have a problem with you jumping in. There is lots of time left to go; I think he is hoping to have the army done and on ebay around November to send the money from the sale to CiN around Christmas time. As for what you can paint, for the most part we have just been picking what we would like to do. I think there might be some people working on figuring out what is "needed". It sounds to me like you have a pretty good idea of what is needed, so you might want to get in touch with Tim. I would think he would have the most accurate list of who is doing what and could put you in contact with whomever is coming up with the army roster. I can't remember off the top of my head who had volunteered for that...

Ok matey's I'll get the ork codex to Matt Crown and then he can start on the army list organisation. I have a member painting a slaver hopefully so grots would be good too. GSG I'll be going over to GW probably midweek so will get your pieces then mate.

Yeah, a footslogger list always benefits from plenty of Grots to shield da boyz. The models are cool as hell too! I currently use Grots to represent all of the models in my Ork army in fact, so I'm pretty practiced at doing them. Have loads of spares stashed away somewhere too so I could paint some of them up if you want. They are one thing I can do quite quickly quite well.
Is the artillery going to be a Zzap Gun? I ask because they are a great anti-tank weapon, and for my money the only worthwhile big gun in the list.

There will be one of each type of artillery piece so yes there will be a zzap gun in there, I was thinking a squig launcher might be cool too.

I said I was going to contribute didn't I? But the problem was, it was looking like I was never going to be able to as I have nowhere to paint. Well anyone who has in the chatroom now probably knows that a painting area is not to far away on the horizon for me! So, fingers crossed, in a few days I should be able to finally make a start on my contribution! I love good news!
