World of Minis Painting Contest Chaotic Creations[/u]


I am pleased to announce the next Worldofminis painting contest will soon be open. The contest is planned to start on September 1st and will close at midnight GMT October 12th. These times are not extendable any entries not submitted by that time will not be allowed.
The theme for the contest is Chaos, there will be two categories 1st, 2nd and 3rd in both fantasy and sci-fi. Works in progress will be allowed if the entrant so wishes but the work should be something new or at the very least close to completion by the opening date of the contest.
your entry can be anything from a single figure to a viginette/ diorama containing a number of models in either category. Entrants my only enter once per category but you may take multiple views of your entry to show it to its best advantage.
Entrants should be registered members of the site and the same will go for the judging of the contest.
All entrants should host there entries in off site image hosting accounts such as photobucket and then send the image tags to me via e-mail or the personal messaging system on the site.
Once closed the entries will be placed in a voting thread, this thread will then be open for voting for one week and the winners announced thereafter. The winning entries will go into the hall of fame.
There will be prizes for this contest sponsors will be announced as they are confirmed.
In the event of a tie the admin will decide the outcome, any decisions made are final and we will not enter into any discussion about such decisions.

Nothing specific, just anything that would fit into the realms of Chaos, can be any manufacturer or size of mini.

Yeah! This contest could probably not come at a better time! By late august/early september I will have my new painting place ready, and I will be eager to paint after a big break. And I have some wonderful chaos minis I would like to paint ;D Another GOOD thing is that I won't have an internet connection at my new flat, so I won't be spending time playing computer games or surfing the net

I'll definately be entering and know which mini(s) i'll be entering (def sci-fi maybe do a fantasy one as well).

I doubt i'll win but hope to improve on the quality of my last entries.

You have got to be in it to win it, I should also point out at this stage that there will be an overall best pize of a complete Vallejo Game Colour paint set in its own carry case supplied by myself.

Just to verify, Chaos counts all the way from:

Daemons/Demons from majorleaguers to lesser, and minor
Trolls
Minotaurs/Beastmen
Chaos warriors, maurauders, priests, acolytes, sorcerers, familairs
Beast, such as mounts, and spawns
Marines, and any future types that follow, the chaos power(s).
Possessed, both men and machines

Think I've covered most things, fill in any blanks if I've left something out, or if you don't agree with one.

Tim mentioned from any manufacturer, so i assume all mini's that fit a theme of "chaos/demon" are eligible to.

Yep, any mini company and sculpted by anyone, as long as they are chaos based, so let your imagination run wild.
Conversions are welcome too, the freaky, and the way out!!

If i would like to make a small diorama, and I , obviosly, have one/some chaos dudes on it, but would it be ok to have none chaos on it aswell?

I would have thought so, as long as the main flavour/story it had/told was Chaos based.

Yes that is ok, I would keep it simple though it is easy to plan big and not finish where as starting small you are more likely to get an entry in.
