i am doing a vostroyan ig army for gaming, wanted dkok but unlike some ( cough, chemical, cough ) i couoldnt justify the cost for a full army at nearly double the price, i have the first lot of mini's pictured below and next week maybe i will be getting a mortar hvy weapon squad, a chimera, basilisk and some bits for the second cmnd squad and maybe a russ or another squad of vostroyans to finish the first phase of the force, painting will begin next weekend hopefully and look out for tank conversions aplenty down the line  pictured are, company cmnd squad, 1 infantry platoon with 2 squads ( no cmnd yet ) 1 armoured fist squad ( no chimera yet ) and one fire support squad of 3 hvy bolter teams, also two officers for the next cmnd squad |

i have just ordered the new macharius for a centre piece for my vostroyans, i wanted it since i saw it and it was a toss up between that and the malcador ;D ;D

Looks like a good start you got there. Wich colour are going for on their uniforms? I painted a 2000pts. Vostroyan army myself last year, and they are indeed the best imp. guard models imo. (except death korps offcourse:P) You said you are going to buy mortars, if you want a gaming army don't do it... I played something like 15 games with mine and they suck! espessialy if you use the vostroyan doctrines, with carapace etc...
And I can't describe with words how much I would like to have a macharius...
Good luck with the army, looking forward to some painted vostroyans:)

Very cool, if I were to start a 40k army it would be vostroyans. Looking forwards to seeing them painted up!

thanks, about the mortars then, swap for more hvy bolters or lascannons or just chuck em for more troops??? they will be green vostroyans aswell btw ;D

Wow I though you meant the commander Machiarus, but that tank is just fantastic! I must say it almost looks better than the baneblade. Btw, what colours will you go for? Personally I do not like the way GW paint their venicles  |

I think the driving lesson nerves are weakening your brain, or that that is left of it  2B a little more serious, paint these guys to the level of your artillery and a few trophies...if it was a fair world... should come your way:) |

alas, i never painted those tanks mate, they are the stock pics from the fw website, im still waiting for mine to arrive  , sorry about the bad pics, it was late and i just couldnt get my camera to focus on the base cos its white and i find white is a bugger to get good focus on for me |

...and my mother-in-law was calling and my footbal team lost (soccerball for u yanks), the pipes where leakin', the electric singin',the brain leakin'... C'mon!!! Read the manual RT or PM one of the guys... no.1... how much to play with have you on the camera??? ie ISO, AV, etc..

started painting some up tonight, may have a full squad done by the weekend ( i hope )   pics would have been better but i think my light source was too close, better pics tomorrow though |

Cool mate. Make sure to take lots of shots of it. I want to see how it looks, even unpanted. I think it will be a big pain in the rear to put thetg together. It is resin, and it is huge! And I am having troubles putting together a plastic rhino lol  |
