This is a 250 point Grey Company list. It consists only of rangers, led by some Dùnedain. It is a small Arnor force of 250 points. In the Grey Company, you can have as many bow armoured rangers as you like, if you have a Dùnedain for every fourth ranger.
It have allways been my dream to use a army of only Dùnedain/rangers. And when using the Grey Company rules, it can be quite deadly from a distance. 21 bow shots in one turn can kill a lot of enemies, and they have the same bow skill as elves! ;D
Three points too much though, 253 points:
Five Dùnedain with bows and swords - 125
16 rangers or Arnor with bows and swords - 128

Here is the new updated list, exactly 250 points. If you compare this to other armies, they will be lucky to have 10 bows at the most. This army have 20 bows and same bow skill as elves ;D I think even bow heavy elf armies will have trouble to beat this army. 10 spears, 10 swords, 20 bows: 3 Dùnedain with swords and bows - 72 2 Dùnedain with spears and bows - 50 7 rangers with swords and bows - 56 8 rangers with spears and bows - 72 = 250 Please say what you think  |

looks like a decent force to me  good luck, and may you kill many orcs (well aslong as you don't play against me of course  ) looking forward to see this army painted too |

Here's an update. Just talked to the manager at my local GW, and the standard point value is now 350. I have modified my list a bit and added 100 more points.
Here's the new list:
4 Dùnedain wth swords and bows
2 Dùnedain with spears and bows
12 rangers with swords and bows
12 rangers with spears and bows
= 350
In the Ruin of Arnor book, the ranger forces was divided into groups, with a Dùnedain leading some rangers. This is also the way I will play them, the groups will try to surround the enemy army, and shooting at it from many different sides.
Group 1:
Dùnedain with sword and bow
2 Rangers of Arnor with swords and bows
2 Rangers of Arnor with spears and bows
Group 2:
Dùnedain with sword and bow
2 Rangers of Arnor with swords and bows
2 Rangers of Arnor with spears and bows
Group 3:
Dùnedain with sword and bow
2 Rangers of Arnor with swords and bows
2 Rangers of Arnor with spears and bows
Group 4:
Dùnedain with sword and bow
2 Rangers of Arnor with swords and bows
2 Rangers of Arnor with spears and bows
Group 5:
Dùnedain with spear and bow
2 Rangers of Arnor with swords and bows

Looking like a decents army to me you got a good number of soildiers and 6 might points in just a 350pts army, thats good I like the idea of splitting the army in smaller skirmish groups. have you got all these minis? |

Cheers mate ;D No I haven't got the minis yet. I will start building the army when I have finished moving. I only need to buy two boxes of "rangers of middle earth" and a box of "guardians of The Shire". I need two because I need some extra bits for conversions. I will also buy a version of Aragorn from the pelennor fields, I will convert him to be a Dùnedain and he will be the army leader I will also buy a lot of the hasslefree brass etch ferns and plants, and some other forest themed scenery. The idea is that these guys wander around in the forests of Eriador looking for orcs and other foul creatures ;D |

your force isnt actually legal only a third of your force can have bows unless its different for arnorians even if you have there main weapon as a sword or spear ill check the rulebook

ok i thought that it was all lotr that is restricted but i havnt played in like 3 months so a tad rusty on the old rule front

no worries mate I don't know if you have it ut in LOME (legions of middle earth) they have a whole bunch of armylists etc and special rules like this one for the grey company |

I have modified my 350 pt list a bit. Now I have less troops but a good leader and a banner. Please tell me what you think, and if this list is better or worse than the others.

mmm I think this new one is better, first its always good to have a good solid hero and secong you don't need to paint as many minis! |

Gwwwaaagh! How could I be so stupid??! The grey company does not include Arathorn! He has been dead for ages! This is what happens when you get too influenced with the game and rules, and forget the most important things.
The grey company is Halbarad, Elrond's sons and excatcly 30 rangers from the north.
Here's the REAL crey company!
Halbarad
Elladan and Elrohir (with elven bows and elven cloaks)
6 Rangers of The North with spears
7 Rangers of Arnor with swords
17 Rangers of Arnor with spears
