Hi.
What is the standard size (in points) for LoTR armies? I am making a Uruk hai army, and I need to know how many points the army will be.

I think the standard size is 500 or 600 pts

I was going to say 5/600 points but I wasn't sure but it does make sense as that is a reasonable size with not too many miniatures.

Depends on the game, rules and scenario. If it was a massive clash say at Minas Tirith, then I would say no less than 1000 points but if it was just a small skirmish party then I'd say 2/300 points. Generally, I aim in a standard match for 500 points, but it's up to you and your opponent on how you are going to play the game!

This is how I usually do it:
Scenario- 500pts
Pitched Battle- 1000pts
Anymore than that and I find it takes too long for me, but it's completly up to you.

Uruk Captain
8 Uruks w/ swords and shields
4 Uruks w/ pikes
5 Uruk Scouts w/ bows
4 Orks (2 spears and 2 shields)
249 points

i think thats a pretty decent 250 pts army. both theme wise and game wise. you have pretty good numbers but still the strenght of the uruks |

just a quick question, I dont play LOTR but love painting the minis, is there a max or min size for any of the units.. to be
a little more clear i would need to know the Max/Min of a unit of Uruk hai.

no there is not such a thing in the LOTR Sometimes there is a limit on how big your army can be though |
