If for some reason GW decides to stop making LoTR minis is it likely that another company will start making them?

Lotr minis have been available for almost forever, Citadel/ GW had the liscence originally but lost it, then Mithril took over, the quality was not as good but not too bad, I have a couple of their Dragons. Ebob is obviously one person that could do it should they drop the line again but there are alos others that could step in, Miniaturas De Castillo come to mind. The trouble is there is only so far you can take a story that has been completed, if the interest is rekindled maybe GW will put more effort into the line (I am thinking if ever the Hobbit is made into a film) plus there is alot of stuff not touched ie events in the Silmarillion, the Books of Lost Tales so there is mileage yet. At the end of the day though how many different versions of figures do you want. We already have many versions of key characters from the Films, and to be honest some of the later releases have not appealed as much to me.

As far as I know, they have agreed to make The Hobbit into a film, so that should give GW another 10 years of stuff to chuck out.....be nice to have a to scale Smaug tho.

It has been revealed that the next supplement is the Ruin of Arnor so there will be new models on the way soon, which reminds me I have a Hobbit on a pony to finish.

Is it possible that the Perry twins could by the license and carry it on, since they do most of the LoTR miniatures anyway?
Just a thought.

they are too involved with Warhammer historical and also there own ranges of miniatures. i think to go fully into producing Lotr would be too much.

As Tim said Miniaturas De Castillo could do them. I've seen some of their minis, and they have the same sort of style as the LoTR ones.
