I've finally bought the LOTR rule book, and I've put together an army list. Please tell me what you think and give me advice. I think I need it, I'm new to LOTR gaming Uruk Captain (heavy armour, shield) - 60 Uruk with banner - 39 4 warg riders with throwing spears - 56 3 warg riders with swords/shields - 45 10 uruks with swords/shields - 100 6 uruks with pikes - 60 5 uruk scouts with swords/shields - 45 5 uruks with crossbows - 55 5 uruk scouts with orc bows - 45 Total: 499 points.

Get yourself an Isenguard troll in there, they are damn near unstoppable.

Yeah, I've thought about that. Do you know what he cost? I don't think I bother buying the new two towers book just for the isengard troll

Isenguard Trolls cost *** points. Expensive but I feel they are worth it and they are well cool models. I have one to paint and am looking forward to it immenslely.

My mom is in Oslo now, and I told her to stop by GW Oslo and buy a Isengard Troll for me. So I'll have it in a few hours ;D
Btw, what equipment does the troll have? Does he have any uppgrade possibilities?

There are two options in the box, you can have either a helmeted head or no helmet and eiither a sword or a spear and of course he has that huge shield, I have not read the army list fully yet but I can look into it for you if you like.

It is not wise to mess with the the posts made by the Global Administrator ie me, if you were concerned about the stats being posted then you should have contacted me directly first the fact that mutantpotato has already posted his army list didn't seem to worry you too much and I am sure that GW are not that bothered about this sort of thing.

Thanks again Tim.
The troll was quite expensive, but if you and Sully says he's worth it, I might give it a try.
But if he's a complete failure, he will look great in my display cabinet ;D
I got the Isengard troll now, and I did'nt like the sculpt very much. The left arm (with shield) and the back were badly textured, and other parts were badly textured too. And many parts of him seems anathomically incorrect. But with some work, he might look great ;D

Well if don't want it I can always use another I still have to paint mine and I personally think it is a very cool model alot of the Lotr range suffer from bad casting and detail issues so I am sure you can do something with it.

Yes it is indeed an cool model. And with a little work, it will look good. Personally, I think the cave troll is the best. It has a cool pose, and the pieces fit well together. I think the mordor catapult troll looks cool too, but it's pointless to buy the entire catapult set just for the troll.
