Hi all, Here are my latest minis now finished barring some winter static grass that Rahz is kindly sending me, I have put these on bases from Kerr and King and they really suit the minis. My intention is to do a reasonable sized force of these guys. And here is a shot of the two together, I am going to send this image to Kerr and King I think too. I am also along the way going to paint some cavalry using the bigger 40mm bases with the same theme, as this project progresses i will keep updating this thread.

Great work Tim, can't find any flaws. I agree about the bases being perfect for the warriors. BTW, is the first one going to be a beardless git? Cheers, Mil

Very nice work, Tim. The metallics look really good and I like the beard stubble on the one.

Beautiful metallics, and as they are almost all armour... beautiful figures... i'm starting to develope my own system now for metals and have to say i've always used yours as a desirable product! I know how i do mine takes a little toooooooo long but i hope to post a tute in the near future, next to master is the gold! (shirks horribly)
A side point, Golden do an amazing range of 'Inference' paint, this is basically metallic acrylic of all colours but to be honest you'd be better with just the light grey and add your own colour, the price is astronomincal, £50 a bottle in Oslo!!!!!!!
Another side point! LASCAUX have released an acrylic 'true matt' varnish.. i'll be buying some next week and will let you know how it performs, i'm especially interested in the effect it will have on metallics!
sorry to rave on...

Fantastic Tim,
I have had to take my respect for you to another level, with the skin on those guys, in such a small space, you've really out done yourself!!!!!

I say what everyone else has, these are bl**dy brilliant mate ;D
are you going to make a diorama? (you have made on called "For Gondor!" before if I'm not mistaken?)

Yep Rahz I dod do a diorama that made the finals of GD 05 but these are going to be for gaming with I hope, I have already done Beregond and also a Battlecry Trebuchet so if I just flesh it out with Warriors and Knights and then maybe a Mounted Aragorn or even Boromir and Denethor then that should give me a decent force for the tabletop. If you haven't seen it then here is the "For Gondor" doirama. cheers guys no.3 should be in the showcase tomorrow.

Thanks Guys, well no.3 is now complted took me alot longer than planned as I haven't had alot of painting time this week so here he is I don't know if you can see but I added a very diluted chestnut ink wash over the armour on this one when it was finished. It is more evident in real life and looks quite good IMO. Now onto no4 that is if I can keep the flow going as I have the newer version of Arwen to paint both foot and mounted and I am also trying to paint Korg fro the EFS painting contest and also trying to get in the mood for painting Orcs for CiN.

Wow, yet another stunning gondorian ;D The metals are beautiful as allways. As gaming standard, these are just fantastic. If you enter a LoTR gaming tournament, I bet you'll win best army ;D
But aren't these bases too big for LoTR? GW can be very strict with their rules, so I am afraid GW might say that you won't be able to play these beauties.

I think the addition of a little chestnut to the armour helps, only because you mention it could i pick out some differences but irl i'm sure it's much more noticable, i use scorched brown to my steel washes and irl it makes it seem more real! I would worry about the LOTR gamers with base size as it does affect the game a lot to have a bigger base, i honestly wouldn't be happy facing an army that gains 2/3mm board for every base, in a defensive line it would be too much of an advantage soory mate

That is ok mate as I will only be gqming at home with them. As for scorched brown yep i used to do that myself but I like the look of the chestnut more, it is a matter of taste I suppose.
