This is my 2nd completed mini and I just bought a new camera and I think I'm doing something wrong..The edges of my figure seem jagged and I'm not sure why they are so. The picture seems a little grainy as well (possibly because to much sharpness.) www.coolminiornot.com/154303 I need alot more practice and all the fields..but atleast I didn't quit after my first one. My third one is on my work bench right now. Thanks for looking! |

Your second is far better than your first and that in itself is a reason to carry on. The metals are good the red is ace, and the greys look smoothly blended. I gave you an 8 as I think that it is a 7 to 7.5 mini.
Keep it up. As for the pic it looks ok to me. Sometimes you can get jagged edges when yopu resize images, it pays to play with how much you crop. Also Cmon resizes stuff as well and that can have an effect on how the image looks on your pc screen.

for your second mini its very good, with abit of time you should become a very accomplished painter, maybe work on your layering for now, but like i say very well done ;D

Stunning for your 2nd mini! To move on i'd suggest thinking about greater contrast, and indeed more layering.
As for the image it looks like you have done a photoshop backgound and pasted the mini, if this is the case did you remember to modify-contract and feather, this softens the edge.

Excellent work for your second mini!. I especially like the blending on the reds. I like the darker metallics as well. My only critique would be to have gone with a "dirtier" job on the armor--strictly personal opinion, but as a minion of the undead I would expect to see him look a bit grundgier. That aside, the technical aspect of the painting is very good. I look forward to seeing your next work!

For a second mini that is brilliant! I remember my second mini... well, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either! Seriously though, that is really really good, probably a lot better than I could do.
