Here she is--the color scheme was very bold, but it is a gift for a friend that plays World of Warcraft, so the color scheme is based on her online character for her nightelf. This was probably my heaviest conversion attempted as well.  Here is the original stock green.  |

Excellent mate I was privileged to get a preview of this I liked it then I like it more now, I have the stock mini and really must get around to painting her. I like your conversion mate it works really well.

A brave man to convert such a beautiful mini but you did it no injustice... sorry i wasn't around before the competition JW, but you pulled off a solid job, as you say it is themed and i know 0 about what it's based on so difficult to crit... how did you do?

i know 0 about what it's based on so difficult to crit... how did you do? Ahh--no objective improvement. The competition was fierce (as you can see by Ritual's stellar entry). I was hoping for a single vote in the top 3, but didn't get it. The fantasy category is typically the largest of the categories and there were lots of excellent entries. I was hoping the extent of conversion would win my a vote or two. I think the color scheme through off quite a few folks, and my highlighting could have been better. That coupled with the fact there was no freehand kept me from getting there. Still, I am happy with her; I did take the highlights up more than I have in the past and think the conversion work looks pretty convincing. I got to work with some unconventional colors which was a nice change of pace. I was pleased with the transitions on the yellows. My friend was very impressed, which is all that really matters. |

Nice conversion! I really like the bright contrasting colour scheme, and the highlighting on the blues is great! (blues are a colour i just cannot manage!)
