This was a wonderful surprise from Tim which has sat on my table for a few months, Desdemone from Ilyad Games. I just couldn't think out of the box for her but recently i've been getting into R.A.Salvatore's Drizzt books and in a flash of inspiration i decided i would do Desdemone as a Drow Priestess! I think she is suitably evil looking... I used Tim Seeley's illustrations for colour reference and inspiration and am quite happy with the end result, enjoy, Dennis

That is magnificent and the first time I have seen her painted any other way than with Elvish skin tone and red clothing/ armour. That is the very reason I never painted her because I couldn't decide how to go about her.

Thanx guys, i really love this mini, i just wish i could get a sharper image.. new lens i think.. anyhow the flesh (razh) is based with 50/50 dark flesh and midnight blue, i then add mix small amounts of dwarf flesh for the layers and eventually add mix ( all to the same base coat) elf flesh in small amounts for the highlights. After highlighting way too far!! i washed the whole flesh area with a glaze mix of the midtone i wanted (dark flesh/dwarf flesh and midnight blue) and rehighlighted, hope this makes sense

Wow. Amazing painting, just like usual. The skintone and metals is brilliant. Don't really have anything to comment, it's all so good. Kjempebra!

jnr: Great work on this piece. I am definitely a fan. I really like how you tied the purple into the piece, with the gem stone and the lipstick. Also, the armour is very bright and colorful, which I like and think would suit bretonnians very well. My armour tends to come out much darker... any tips?
The only thing that seems off about her is the eyes... not sure why. I think that they do not have enough separation from the whites... does that make sense?
Great work.

Ooh...lots to love here. I really like your skintones. The purple base is something I never would have thought of, but suits her perfectly. It is these sorts of concepts that will inevitably separate me from the true artists out there--I can't think outside the box when it comes to things like this. The eyes are great too. Lovely gemwork. My only two niggling critiques would be that the blend on the rear of the sword (top half near the handle) is not quite at smooth as your usual work and the gray in her hair looks a bit heavy in spots to my amateur eye.
