Originally i painted Stern for a WH40K Squad but after much investigation found i couldn't use him in a legal unit I could have gone further but as i'm reworking my 40k command this will do, i took onboard all your suggestions and hope you can see the difference (Jabber!!!)

Very impressive, in particular the freehand on the shield!

Woah...Dennis, there aren't enough compliments for this one. The adjustment on the face is spot on. The freehand is incredible. Nothing to critique at all! I'll head over to CMoN and do my best to counter the bonehead snipers

Wow. I dunno what to say. It's just awesome, prefect, amazing etc. (I could go on and on like this for ages). Minis like this don't need explaining or commenting, the paint-job speak for itself. This is one of the best minis I have seen in a long time, and I was very suprised when I saw the CMON score, this mini derserves only 10's.
I really like the freehands (shield, cloak), the armour, cloak, face and the blade. But the overall impression of the mini is just awesome. If you say that you've only painted for one year, nobody will belive you.
I hope you will enter him in Golden Griffon, because you will definitely win the gold (and then I can get the chance to see it IRL ;D).

Thanks for all the support, my tantrum is now over Thanx also for the comments on Cmon Mikkel, however i don't thing i shall enter Stern in the Golden Griffon! I have a great looking GK Termie on the go and i've learnt a few things from Stern which should make it a better mini, most importantly varnishing.. Stern has had all types of varnish as i couldn't get him to look unvarnished!! i think it shows a little in the photo but not irl That will not be a problem now.. my remedy is brush on Dullcote for non metals and humbrol matt varnish for metals, only one v thin coat for non gaming pieces. That said you will still see stern irl, next year, when you are allowed to go to the pub on a saturday

I could never paint a mini like that, there's just too much... but you have done it justice mate!! Screw CMON, I hate that place, some people just don't know a good paintjob when they see one...

This is a great piece Menace, i like a lot the freehands you've done because even if they are a lot they don't overweight the mini and are very apropriate and in the right places, i like the color scheme too. About the 7.2.... lol no comment.
