Here is my first rider of Rohan, the plan is to paint up a small Orc hunting party led by Eomer and this is the first of them to come off the paintstation, I will get on with the next ones after I have painted my Orc for the contest, more on that later . I think I will go back and hit the shoes with another highlight as they look dull in the pics however I don't want to make them too bright as with so many tones of the same colour it is quite difficult to keep the mini looking interesting. I hope you like the model as much as I have enjoyed painting it, now onto the next rider of Rohan

Yep liking it too Tim, and I wouldn't highlight the boots anymore they look fine as they are. I think they look like boots that have been worn a while and would be slightly duller due to the shine fading as dust and so forth gets on them. Back away from the mini!!!! ;D

Great use of white on the horse. I can't wait to see the next one! Out of curiosity, what colors did you use on the sash on the rider? I looks similar in color to the sashes of the elves I am working on and I was wondering how you highlighted and shaded it.

Thanks guys, jabber the sash was painted Scab Red and just highlighted up by adding bronzed felsh into the red until I was happy with the look.

It is a shame that it is not appreciated on Cmon, this will be the last mini I submit there, I am averaging 7.5 on which I think is an easy eight and I have cheeky *****S calling it glossy, well that is a good one considering there is not a touch of gloss varnish on it, if they mean the metals shine well they are metals for F~***S sake what do you expect metals to do.

Thats craziness--I know how much it sucks to have your stuff critisized by people who dont know what theyre talking about (though perhaps my stuff was faulty--yours is clearly not). I can't see what anyone could see something which is even better than 'eavy metal and critisize it. I've always thought CMON was crap though--it seems that the best stuff gets a 5-7 average while less skillfull paintjobs get the same scores. I say you're well shot of them.

Great job on the horse and rider (as I have said before . I don't like CMON (and not the Palantir nowadays )either. I think it is mainly because of their rating systems. instead of rating a mini I prefer to leave a comment, it feels more real so to speak. Razh

Maybe you could stipple a little mud on the boots if you want to break them up a little As always I love this mini, love the shield to bits and i must confess i've been using your ol' Boromir for instant reference in painting him now As for CMON, i've got it sorted, feckthemm, it's the numbnuts that get me not the painters, i will post loads of figures here in future that won't go on CMON because they don't fit the CMON regime. If you had tits and were russian the testosterone filled litted twats would score you 10... look at a certain sisters goblin wolf riders, higher rated than all our work together, but she's 'nice'... feckin women. I am now guilty of bad voting, everytime i see a friend, someone from here or OR i don't care about the mini, i just give it a 10, there are lots of w****rs out there doing the same.. i got onto a guy from Poland about a ludicrous mark he had for a sheet sculpture, hey, it was removed the next week! The only answer, and a good attitude, put a figure on the back boiler only for cmon, when you feel a need paint it to the x degree of contrast, put tits on your avatar and watch your score go through the roof"! Don't need to tell you you ARE a great painter, a decent bloke and i'd have a drink with you, but maybe you 'd be a bit pissed by my drunken behaviour ;D CMON is EXCELLENT for pushing the limits but it is a KILLER of individualism and genius
