I have posted this guy in the member gallery section, but why not post him here too. This is my mounted Lord of Nurgle. It won 2nd place (in the large scale category) at a national painting competition in Norway (menace won the lotr category btw). Here's the winners (the guys at GW forgot to take a picture): ne.games-workshop.com/news/golden%2D06/. I am really happy with this, and I think it's my best mini to date. I have learned much by painting it, and it was my first attemt at rust effects, resin water, nurgle and actually my first mounted fantasy mini ever. The photos is not good, and the blood and metals came out strange on the photos. I limited my palette to earthy colours, and tried to make everything look rotten and decayed without going too far. This was a fun project, and I will do some more nurgle stuff in the future. Here's the cmon link: www.coolminiornot.com/130730Front view: Right view: Left view: Please leave a comment, I'd like to know what you think ;D

super cool! I love that mini!
My only critisism would be that the bright red on the boils (?) is a very sharp contrast to the felsh around it, I might have painted them a different color. That said its a really great piece.

Thanks for the nice words guys, I really appreciate it. @mminiatures: Even though the blood looks a bit better IRL, it still doesen't look real. The blood was a last minute desciscion a couple of days before the competition. The most important lesson I have learnt is to plan your time ;D @menace: What, March?! Oh shit, I better get painting soon. I haven't even bought my the minis yet

I like it, very Nurgley, nice dark rotting type colours, great base, I would add a creamy white dot ontop of the boils/spots, just to make them a little more puss filled and yukky!!!

I reckon it's a fix. Did you notice how only your mini didn't get a picture taken of it? Hmm...

Excellent rust MP. The dark colors are very fitting for him. Congrats on a well deserved award for 2nd place!
