Well, at first a bit about me Im painting now for 2 Years (with a big break),my best results was finalist in Warhammer Single at my first Gd and a place in the White Dwarf with my Chaoschampion from a local Competition....and sorry for my late Reply, had some troubles with my Camera . But now to Legolas... After repainting some parts of Legolas and taking better pics I can finally show it to you ,I tried to keep the coloursheme in a more realistic way And I allthough tried to paint the Legolas in the same way as he looks in the Movies. Im not satisfied with every point of the Mini but I hope u like him,my next Mini will be a fantasy or 40k Mini. Oh and this was allthough my Entry for the German Gd 06 in the Lotr Category but he didnt place ,the Lotr Category was this Year a very hard one (kudos to Banshee ,David W. ).So tell me what you think about him. At this point A BIG THX to Menace you really helped me out mate ... cya Dale Ps:I will post him at Cmon soon img112.imageshack.us/my.php?image=legopanorama2zd8.jpgimg134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=legohinten2pi3.jpgimg54.imageshack.us/my.php?image=legovorne2zr1.jpg

Nice work mate, I don't think this is the best of the Legolas sculpts but you have made a very good job of it.

I understand perfectly, one of the reasons I didn't buy the BotF set was because I thought that this and one or two other sculpts were very poor.

Really good dalerion! I like the green cloak, and the smooth blendings. I like the face/eyes too. I'm not a big fan of nmm but you did a pretty good job on the blades. Keep up the good work!
Cheers

You have a beautifully clean painting style and it comes across well in this Legolas. I think that you could go a lot further with the contrast though, bring up the highlights. For realism (i think i'd mentioned this, but again...) i highly recommend buying a tube of Raw Umber Artists Acrylic. One tube will last a lifetime and it's a very cheap pigment, just dilute some in a GW mixing pot and use to desaturate colours, it has a fantastic effect in making most colours look more realistic, especially flesh, but it doesn't mix well with yellow. GD Germany was an exceptionally high standard, good luck for next year

You should be able to buy it in any local art store or hobby shop that sells paint. 'Raw Umber' is the pigment and also the name of the colour, i would recommend a quality artists brand like Lascaux or Golden as they grind the pigment more and are smoother but Windsor and Newton Artists Quality should be good enough..

Very nice weathering, Dalerion. Good blending on the clothing. As Menace mentioned, some additional highlighting would be good. I might also suggest a bit heavier darklining between the fingers and along the wrists and forehead at the hairline.
