Heylo, I dont know about you lot but I actually enjoyed painting Goblins, they were a refreshing change to the hard models I go for, a little relaxation is needed some time  So so far I have done Durburtz and a Goblin Captain and currently working on the shaman: Remember I havent done metallics for over a year so go easy on me I like them either way, the contrast of the green skin and the dirtiness of the armour is what i mostly happy with, what do you think though?

I think you must be a masochist if you enjoy painting something so small for fun! Generally they look well painted but i'm having a hard time with the lighting in the photo, it seems very intense in parts. However the metals need a little more defining, more shading would do the trick. Try and get your photos a little less exposed so we can see the subtlety of the paintwork

They are well painted, a little too green for my taste for Lotr goblins but the quality is definately there.

yeah I did lighten the picture quite a bit too far so some parts like the skin, armour and the hair look far too bright than they actually are Thanks for the comments though people, i need a good way of doing metallics, has anyone got a guide or can explain how to shade with metal areas please, it would be greatly appreciated ;D

Metals are best shaded using thin glazes of paint or ink, I tend to go for a mix of Chaos Black and Scorched Brown varying the mix as to what sort of shade I want, thin it heavily and then apply as a glaze letting each coat dry and then applying another until I am satisfied with the result, I work into the recesses making the shades darker as I get further into the recessed area.

ok thank you very much Tim, i cant try it on the final goblin because the guy i am painting it for says he loves them how they are so i wont change the way of painting them but after i will test it out.

I'd need an hour to 'simplify' how i do metallics, so let's just say i do it wrong! Tim's metals are top drawer and you won't go far wrong with his advice or you can try this guy, a personal favourite and multi GD winner... www.jrn-works.dk/follow the links to hois tutorials on metallics

The skin tone is a bit too green for my liking, and from the way the pictures have been taken, the armour look shiny, but other than that thre's some great work there! Nice one!
