Just got this mini finished today, all in all I like the mini, I had to base the mini as the customer wanted so that is the only thing that I wouldn't have done that way. I would love one of these myself to turn into a diorama but the chance of ever getting one is slim. Still I had the pleasure to paint one and that was cool.

Your such a lucky guy, what I wouldnt do to get me one of these Even just to be able to paint one would be good. Anyway, great paint job on it, the colours are well blended as usual, its a shame theres on metal areas so you can show off your talent with metallics

Thanks, it actually makes a change to not have to do any metals, my next mini that I have in the works has lots of metal so that should keep me on track.

Great paintjob, Tim. I think the base is not that bad either, simple, but fits well to the mini. I like it.
Colors are nice, but I think I would have tried to use more different shades on the cloak and the rock (even a brighter rock would do). Now they blend a bit into each other.

Thanks endrem, yes the colours are very close together I agree. It is difficult to get a good look to a mini when you are using the same colours. Also I tried to stick quite closely to the movie look for Gandalf.

I thought so, and you managed it pretty well That's actually why I mentioned a brighter rock. Something like this I was thinking of:
