This is a picture for you all of the Howling Griffon bike I painted last month. The picture is okay, but not brilliant, I ran out of batteries after doing one shot so it will have to do for now. Edit (Better Pictures) i64.photobucket.com/albums/h182/dogfacedboy_uk1/Howling%20Griffons%20Space%20Marines/spacebikeCMONMontage1.jpgYou can vote for it here on CMON www.coolminiornot.com/126605This is the first thing I have painted in a long while and am currently working on learning wet blending techniques, so let me know what you think of the standard of painting. The model has a few minor conversions - pointing a gun to the side, howling griffon shoulder pad and quite a nice base. I'm fairly pleased with it. When I get some good shots it will be going on ebay. I have another two bikes (one an attack bike) and a Rhino to do in Howling Griffon colours before I'm done on my Howling Griffon project. This lot will probably be sold at the same time. The base of the next bike is complete and the parts have been soaked in water and flash trimmed off all ready to be primed so expect some photo's of this in a couple of weeks.

Very dynamic! I assume he has slammed the front brakes, but looks as calm as a cucumber. I really like the scheme...bright but not overwhelming.

This guy is just about to land, you can't quite tell that without holding the model in your hands though. Thanks for the comment! The attack bike I'm working on with have the sidecar careering over some rubble as well!!

Do you use two light scorces for your pics? Because it will cut down on the shadows on the mini if you use two comeing at the mini from opposit sides. just a sugestion. Nice mini though, did you use metalics or NMM on the muffler(sp??)

Hi Ell, my lighting setup is non existant at the moment I hope to have the proper gear (ie, a dedicated stand/backdrop/three clamp on lamps and some method of light diffusion set up within a few months after I move) I simply shone a daylight bulb over the top of the mini to eliminate shadow. The next few shots I will try shining directly from the front as I really can't see much on my monitor - I don't know how you guys can see all the weathering effects because I can't see hardly any, but yes there are heavy weathering effects on this one.My monitor settings are probably darker. Most of the trims are mud/rusted up and there is battle damage on the front (took one of the guns out and just covered the front plate with big holes where the gun has been blown to bits. You'll see that in the next picture.
Regarding the muffler it's metallics. NMM is a technique I am not planning to start practicing until I am skilled enough. I do like it, especially on the Rackham mini's. Wet blending is what I am currently working on. All I did on the pipes was simply undercoated with black then boltgun metal then a wash of thin chaos black. Thin wash of brown ink around the holes and picked out some highlighted areas with chainmail. Seemed to work ok.
