Phew I am just about as tired as I have ever been, I have done two consecutive weeks of 12hr shifts and I am bloody knackered. I have still got a few more to do before I finally get a couple of days off to recover. Maybe then I can get some more painting done.

Makes me thankful for being self-employed.... but then i don't get sick pay like you will if you keep working those shifts! I think it's totally justifiable having a 'sick off work' day when you're expected to do so much

You mean to say you don't get a couple of days off every week Tim That's harsh.

Well I work a 24hr shift pattern and the roster runs that there are days off but with everyone taking leave that leaves those of us that are left to man the ship so long shifts have been the norm for a while. I have one more 12hr day tomorrow and then 2 nights. I get Friday off 12hr days Saturday abd then Sunday off and then I am back on shift untl Wednesday where i get one more day off before starting my days again for another 7 days.

Ouch. You better be getting paid handsomely for all this extra work!

That's pretty harsh indeed. Are your shifts very busy in average, or you have time to take a break, read the news and stuff? I'm working officially 8 hours a day, but it's rarely less than 10 hours. This includes some browsing, news reading as well, though

My shifts can vary between being very boring and on the other hand very busy. I am on a rapid response fault team which basically sits by the phone and just waits for faults to come in, these last two weeks have been very very busy indeed.
