Evening guys, ordered a few sexy ladies from hasslefree minis recently. and they finally turned up (post office strikes make me want to hurt people) So iv decided to do some OSL on Morgan, the female spy, but iv just got a few issues am hoping u can help me out with. Firstly wot colour should the light be? alot of old lamps are orange but id rather use white/light blue light. second how would the light interact with the base and the mini? am presuming that everything outside the light cone would be black/grey because thats the only colours we can see in lowlevel light, but wot about inside the light cone? am planning on mixing dark/light blues in to the shades/highlights of the normal colours for the mini and then use a large contrast between shade/highlighted areas to give the osl effect, would this be the right way to go about it or is their something am missing? Cheers, Darkmessiah

Hi!!! like the Mini, thats one I've not done yet!!
As far as the light effects go it all depends on the colour of the light bulb. The majority of the light is normally near white with the periphery's in blue/red orange......When painting strong light on a figure then all the areas touched by the light should be the same colour as the light...red light = red glow. There is usually a very dark area between where the light finishes and the natural colour of the figure begins or as you say you can paint everything else very dark shades of grey blue and black, I'm working on an idea that is similar for next years GD's.
Creating light effects on a figure is one of the most difficult effects to master ( I know I've been trying for years with limited success) So good luck and keep us posted on how it goes, I'll try to find some pics from my archive to help
