Am looking at trying my hand with a few 52mm historical peices but want to paint robes and dark brown leathers with more natrual tones, do you guys know any good colour combinations for in the VMC range ud be kind enough to share? :duh: some egs so u guys know wot am talking about

here are some triads I use myself (first the base color is given then the highlight then the shadow):
984 Brown 875 Beige Brown 822 Black Brown
940 Saddle Brown 981 Orange Brown 985 Hull Red
981 Orange Brown 915 Deep Yellow 940 Saddle Brown
These can be used for all kinds of leather I think. For the robes it depends what color you are gonna use. Historical wise robes were dyed with natural colors which are sometimes difficult to get looking right with vmc colors. Artist oils can be easier to get a color right but that is a very different painting technique then acrylic paint. I would suggest to pick some strong primary colors from the vmc range.
