I watched the England match yesterday with some dissapointment, I had hoped that Englands performance would have improved after their opening game but no it was dire, yes I know we won 2-0 but that is not the point we could have so easily been embarassed, and even have made it very difficult for ourselves to get through to the last 16. I can only hope that they will improve or our chances of winning the tournament are going to be non existent.

SWEDEN!!!!
Yes England's game was a bit off, but let's face it Trinidad-Tabago was making them work. Sweden had a hard time with them too.
Hejdå

Not until the last 20 minutes I'd say, before then TT had comfrotably contained us.

T&T set out to contain the game, not to win, which is always difficult to break down... however England just didn't have the breaks and i think they are a bit lacking up front without the likes of rooney.
Lennon made a massive difference when he came on (who d' hell is he??) and the prescence of rooney in that hole position confused the TT defense..
I think when England have the right combination of players they will be awesome... but someone should convince joe cole to pass to someone who can score rather than trying himself...
As for Sweden.. hmmm... Freddy gets injured and they are in s**t, but it was cool to see a Norwegian flag among their supporters!!

I agree with the inclusion of Roonie and Lennon the team did spark but and it is a big but if it takes two players to make England a force to reckon with then it does not say much for the English team. Mind you Lampard was having an off day with his shooting and also Gerrard should learn to pass a bit more rather than trying to shoot every time he gets the ball.

Nice analysis of the situation, I think you missed your second calling. Yeah, it looks like Zlatan is going to be out for the whole WM so if Freddie gets hurt..., but don't forget there are a couple of more on the bench that are no slouches as well. We'll see on Tuesday.

True England havent been playing all that well, but it isnt the time to be playing your best if you know what i mean. the knockout stages is survival of the fittest, so England will need to consistantly play their best if they stand a chance of winning.
one last note i think rooney is highly over rated, they always talk about rooney in the build up to a match but none of the other players get a mention.
oh well, c'mon England! ;D

What is it in a country (england) of 59+ million and alot of football nutters that you can only have Robinson as a keeper.... i'm neutral here, he's as much use as a bikini at the north pole

SWEDEN!!! You have to admit it was a fun game to watch. Right to the end, just the way I like 'em. And just think, Sweden only has 9 Million people, so compared to your 5 billion English, not a bad job, huh? ;D NEXT!

Robinson is one of our better keepers but you have to say that the whole team realy did not perform as expected again, it was a big blow to lose Owen straight away but come on does one man make a team, it certainly seems so in the UK. Both the goals we conceded were down to extremely poor defence, this is to take nothing away from Sweden they playedsa good game and it took to special goals for us to take the lead, so to see us concede what are defendable goals is annoying, I don't see England progressing pass the next stage to be honest.

Yay England made it through to the quarters though again it was a poor showing y the team and a poor match in general, though Beckham's free kick/goal was awsome. At least when we face Portugal in the quarters they will be missing a couple of key players, did you see that match what was the reff on 16 yellows and 4 reds, i think FIFA need to look at that.
