firstly i would say try using a few washes on your cloak to give it some shading using a thinned down red ink or darker red paint, when its shaded, try picking out the highest points of the cloaks ripples in a mix of scab red ( i think thats what you used ) say 70-30 scab red to blood red and increase the mix for each succesive highlight upto pure blood red. for the black do the same for highlighting but not as much, maybe mix a grey into the black and highlight up to the grey unmixed, but try to do just the higher points so you can still see its black. i hope that makes sense for ya ;D

Ok mate as it says in your post I have taken the images and resized them to keep the forum page layout intact. I was going to give you a tip or two but RT seems to have beaten me to it lol.

Oooh, glad to see I'm not the only one with a red ranger. He's looking fine, but as Roguetrader said, he could use some washed for shading. Cheers, Wolf Fang

A tip for simple re-sizing deadzero mate. You use photobucket, so if you just double click the picture you want to post, photobucket will automatically open it up in a new screen. It will then give you a list of editing options along the top of the picture, one of which is a resize button. Clicking on this will open a drop down box with several options. Just click the forum option and the website will resize the picture for you. Simple as pie!

You could tidy up the freehand on the cloak with some of the base colour, practice your strokes 4 or 5 times then go for it with paint, it'd make a great improvement to see the freehand sharp

I got some advice. Be sure to remove all mould lines before assembing the model. Mould lines are the places where the two parts of the mould have been placed together, and some plastic lines appear on the bits. It will also be good to fill out the holes by the shoulders with greenstuff. That said, it's a really cool convo. I have been playing alot with the idea of converting whfb ogres to 40k ogryns, though I have never gotten around to actually do it Your pics have definitealy inspired me though ;D

these were your =][= squats wernt they?? i would agree that you need to gs ( greenstuff ) the joins, you could also try removing the belly plates and sculpting the bellys in, bellys are the easiest things in the world to sculpt on, i remember that the squats also used to have helmets on not disimilar to the cadian helmets, maybe you could find something to look like them or try sculpting again, lastley i remember alot had flak jackets like the catatchans i believe, sculpting again would be a good way to make these and great practice on improving or gaining some gs skills. and dont forget the runes, similar to dwarf runes oh and in the rt era squats, alot had sunglasses and a biker appearence. if you take your time and try out some conversion and sculpting idea's these could be really cool, good start though, i'll watch with interest ;D ;D

Very cool conversion--I have always been a sucker for a fantasy/sci-fi mix a la Shadowrun.
