Just wanted to get some feed back on some of my current works in progress . Both are going to be entered into the Citadel Celabration contest. First is of The Troll Hill Cheif for LOTRs Next we have a Dark Elf for Warhammer converted to hold a sword instead of a severed head sorry about the heavy amount of pictures just recently got a photobucket account to use for WIP Any and all comments welcome to help. Thanks AW

they both look cool mate, i really like the troll, just a quick question though, what is that line of greenstuff for? is it just the start of the gap fill, are you going to put more on and sculpt the fur over?

@ Rogue : Im assuming your talking about the right arm. that is just blue sticky tack to hold his arm on. , but yes i will be gluing that in place and green stuffing the fur and leather parts for that arm.
@ Tim, Most likly he will be going up for sale depends on how much i like him, Ill pm you if you like the final outcome.
Thanks for the Comments ill keep you posted on the progress of these two.

Nice looking conversion on the DE--I like it a lot. The troll looks to be coming along nicely as well.

here is my most recent work on The Hill Troll Cheif base. Please all comments are most welcome and critique it as much as you all can. am planning on entering this into the CC and GD. The bones are far from done. but was thinking about being done on the durt and rock. Thanks AW

Wow, I do rather like that base. The bones and charred earth create an instant scene.
If I had to find a fault I'd say it could do with a bit more going on. Its a bit monochromatic-maybe add a patch of tall grass and some of that tan plains style static grass? I think some of the stone highlights could be added to a bit. Ultra highlighting on stone is rarely a bad thing.

Yes I agree the base looks ace mate, as you say the bones are not done so no comment on those, I think maybe the dirt could have a very fine drybrush to go a bit lighter and then the rock too. After that I would possibly add some very very thin washes of DA Green and separate glazes of Scorched Brown, use about a brush tips worth to about two to three drops of water and mix it in well, apply liberally a couple of times, this gives some interesting effects.

That base is really awesome! And the conversion you have done on the Dark Elf is fantastic! When my dad does conversions sometimes he makes weapons and stuff out of bits of sprue, perhaps try that one time?
Keep going!

Can't comment on the figs! th dark elf conversion is awesome although the originl is one of my fave sculpts...
as for the base i have to contend.. there is not enough contrast,,, it's up to you, do you wash more or drybrush on more white? i'd go for the latter, but vvvv carefully!
lookin forward to the progress on these minjs

I'd chime in on the grass as well. Otherwise the base is looking very good!

That base is spot on. A few small suggestions:
Think moisture. Maybe some algae, mold, or moss to add some color to the rocks. Also, you could add a small amount of old, dried up blood to spruce it up.
