I use these days a very fine brush and black ink, though you have to be realy careful and I am by no means an expert at it.

I use a 000 series 7 m brush and usually shadow grey diluted just enough to come of the tip on contact, it's a good idea to set the mini in a steady position, maybe on a towel or sometning so you can steady your painting hand at the wrist with your other hand...you need to be quick b4 the paint dries at the tip though....
another idea is to use a micron pen, 0.3, this is what idid at the beginning, only problem i found was it was too black, so i would glaze after with white to grey the eye a little...
..it really is a matter of patience and worth continually retrying as there's nothing worse than a cockeyed hero!

Use an tiny brush, and then do whatever you find easier of out these two:
1) Put a dot of black in the centre and put white around it. 2) Paint it all white and put a dot of black in the centre.

I use to paint the eyes first of all, o I don't mess up the face when painting them.

Lots of good suggestions, here. Myself, I tend toward the micron pens for my eyes. Darklining the eyes will help them stand out a bit from the face as well. Reaper has an article as well, if the CMoN articles don't answer your question. Check it out at www.reapermini.com/TheCraft/12
