Hey guys, after reading mattofmirkwoods song in another thread I thought it might be a good idea to have a little poetry thread that people can throw their stuff in. I'll probably be digging some of my own out soon, but in the mean time post away.......

I have never written any poetry but I may give it a try, I look forward to any contributions that are added.

I went through a creative writing phase a long while back. That's why I have to dig them out - hope i can find them!

Okay, here is an old one and it was inspired by Metallica's "Of Wolf and Man". Opinions would be good. Here goes.....
Shapeshifter -----------------
See tonights new moon in the sky, Hear the call of your brethern, hear their crie's. Feel the beat of your pounding heart, Smell the scent of the chilled night. Answer the call of the wild, You who are shapeshifter, wolf child. They cry, they howl, Through the nights chilled mist they prowl, Hunting the weak, Their company you seek.
I begin to feel the blood of the wolf course through my veins, Shift shape and feel the pains. Two legs become four, Hand becomes paw, Nail changes to become my claw. I am a wolf within the skin of a man, Cunning hunter, To eat your children is my plan. I change shape, no longer the same, I change shape, new powers I gain, I change shape and your life I claim, Killing while you sleep, Bury your dead while you weep, This evil secret is mine to keep.
And after the rise of the sun, No longer do I run, I walk, amongst men unseen, But tonight, hunting your land while you dream.

That is very good mate, I don't think I would have detected where you based it on if you hadn't said. No virtual tomatoes from this corner.

Hello guys, I wrote this whilst listening to Metallicas Black album so a couple of lines were inspired from "of wolf and man" but also some visual inspiration from "An American werewolf in London" the agonising transformation scene being a particular favourite of mine. Being a werewolf enthusiast (as some of you may have had suspicions of...!) I thought I'd write a poem based on a werewolf instead of regular wolves. From there it came together quite quickly, probably wrote it in under an hour but I'm not sure. I write faster than I paint mini's at least!!!
