This is my latest piece of work, been working on it over the weekend but would like some comments and see if anyone can pick me up on anything. Oh and a bit of help. Namely, the staff - suggestions for the actual staff? The skull will be well, a skull. Also the cat at her feet. I did think maybe a light colour, a creamy type or a black one with white face and belly but not sure. Any suggestions? What about her base? Not sure on the sand but figured it needed something over the milliput. If you don't get the theme, she's raising a skeleton or two - hence the arm coming from the grave. Here, pictures. KU

The diorama looks really cool, and the idea is awesome. Can't wait to see it finished. I think it would be cool to have source lightning from the end of the staff, maybe some sort of red lightning power that drags the skeletons out of their graves. And the ground should be really dark and plants growing everywhere like noone have been at the graveyard for ages. Some moss on the gravestones would be cool too ;D Good luck with the project mate

Nice work, thus far, KU. I would suggest a lighter creamy color--tan, perhaps--for the cat just to provide a bit of contrast to the dark green dress. Too much black and the cat will blend in, I think.

Lookng good so far mate, I think the source lighting idea is a good one, also I think the green needs more but as this is a WIP I will wait until I see a more complete pic before I give any comment on the painting.

Thanks for the comments.
I have heard people say do light sourcing, to be honest - I'm not brave enough yet. I don't think my blending is good enough yet, so might be boring and just paint it boringly skull like.
The base does need a lot of work but I've not started on it just yet, want to get the vampire herself sorted first. But I aim to make it all dark and what have you.
Tim - Yeah, the highlights have been washed out; they need to be reworked slightly.
