Here is my Crest of Asterest that I sculpted, (mostly to help Raccy with his book):  I reckon I need another highlight of brown to finish it. Also a wash of brown ink in the recesses might define it better. |

Another highlight will definately help it, I would probably paint a darker shade in the recesses rather than trust to inks, the result would be much better.

I thought you did it for the sake of it! Oh well, that picture does help a lot, I will try and sketch it for my book soon! (I'll put a pic up) It is looking good at the moment though Matt! Keep going!  |

I think your assessment for the highlighting and a bit more shadowing is spot on, Matt.
