As some of you may know, I have been planning a personal defenders of Asterest range. (Pm me if you want me to e-mail you the plans). So, I'm doing a 20mm scale army and a 28mm one as well. Here is the first recruit for the 20mm one: It still needs alot of work.

I can see that! But yes, I knew you were doing this. But I must ask, is Asterest a place you have made up or is it from somewhere?

The name is completely made up. This sculpt is sort of reminding me of some of Renegade miniatures' sculpts.

Agreed--good start on this one, Matt. I have to confess my ignorance, though: who/what is Asterest?

It's just a place I made up, I imagine it kind of like the Plains of Rohan.

Heres the latest update: It's a breastplate that hes wearing BTW. I reckon the torso is too big.

Even though hes kind of small I'd reccomend an armeture. This will et you concentrate on detailing and shaping the torso rather than just getting it to stick onto the legs. As I'm sure you know without an armeture and detail pressed into the putty here would push the torso fromt he body.
that said this is an improvement from your previous work. All you or me or anyone looking to sculpt needs to do is critically eye each sculpt and make it better than the last.

Yeah, i'll use armatures in all the other ones. I think i'll just plough on with this one and see how it turns out.

I think I'm going to start again on this one. I've got the sizing all wrong.
