This is a good start on this mini. Looking forrward to see more. I would suggest mixing chaos black with a lot of water and some glaze medium (the best brand is Golden) and just load the metals with it. It's bloody easy to use, and the metals will look great, it almost paints itself ;D

Hey guys, Sorry for taking so long to do any more, but I was busy with revision and exams not to long back and I'm getting back into the swing of things now. I have done the helmet, gauntlets, boots and belt, complete with highlights which I am really quite proud with. I've also got a pic of the washed axe. Enjoy my friends! Helmet shot from above. Boots from the front. Boots from the back. (Pleased with the highlights on this) Belt. (Not very easy to see - sorry!) Gauntlets. And finally, the more dirty axe. (The pic is a bit blurry however) Quite picture heavy so sorry about that but I've done quite a lot and I have much to update. Next I'll probably do the weapon shaft, glove fingers etc. Any comments/criticism appreciated as always, I want to know how to improve!

dive into the ink pot once you get the hang of it you will wonder what you did before hand, even on flesh they work wonders really
Don't give up I strip my minis often and restart, its like climbing a mountain, worth the effort of the improved view. Patience with the camera it also takes time to figure out excited to see more of your wips

Thanks guys.
@tab - I have been experimenting with inks on this one and will definitely use them on the face etc.
@razh - Cheers mate. I might give the gold another highlight, but I want the mini to look like he's been fighting for a while and has had time to polish his helm!

looks good so far, maybe some more highlighting on the leather and you could try a brown ink to shade the gold and then some shining gold to highlight it a touch. looking forward to more ;D
