I was lucky enough to get my hands on the new Eldar Heavy Weapon platform before its release to paint for my store, but I'm having trouble deciding which gun/cannon thing to put on it. I'd like some input from you guys. It's not for gaming so I dont really care whether its a good choice rule wise, just which one looks coolest to you. And if you're like me and don't know whats what, lets just call them 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (from left to right). Right now I'm partial to 1 and 3... (*edit* I'm not liking 1 that much on closer inspection of the actual sprue...) P.S. No camera right now so no pics of the troops/crew.

5 and 3 would be my top choices.

5 is nice too... I like 3 because it has less curved surfaces. I've never really done any cylindrical type curved surfaces in anything other than metals which is a bit different than having to do them in normal paints...

Mmm I like two and that would be my choice, not a good choice if you are nervous about rounded shapes.

Thanks Tim. I've removed all the guns from the sprue just to see how they look on the weapon platform and right now I'm liking 3 the most.
My goal is to get it cleaned and primed tonight (along with one of the new Giants and some old plastic wizards that GW sent for painting lessons).

Hate to post consequetively but I'm gonna go with 3, I have to prime it tonight so it seems like a good choice to me. It doesn't really matter, but since it is for display I'd rather not have to try to attempt something I'm rather unfamiliar with.

I started painting them today at work (my boss actually told me to lol). I'm going with a two tone red scheme with green gems (did I mention I hate gems?). It's going well. The red is looking really nice so far. No pictures though, once I can get my camera to work I'll take some.

I'll take my camera to work with me this morning. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go down to the bunker and snap a shot or two.
